STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Respite

"I'm not inviting Tarne to attack my lands," Wazo Kell says. "I don't know that he'd try to take them anyway."

Well, I'm game for the distraction if you are Xeth.

"There has to be some way to lure him out," Vera-Kin says. "Something he wants or needs."

"His need for supplies is not as high, since his army is mechanical," Wazo Kell says. "And most of his food is grown inside the base via hydroponics. He's got water pumping into the fortress from the sea for that."

"So shut it off," Navir says.

"We've tried that," Wazo Kell says, curtly.

"And?"

"It's hard to hold the pump station," Wazo Kell says.

"If you're willing to put yourself out there, I'll be sure to pick you up quickly," Xeth says. "Then, we're out of here."

Xeth will start looking for a route across the yard among the scrap and junk so that he can pick his way over to one of the STAPs and commandeer it.

The yard is more open than the wasteland beyond the walls, but if Ti is drawing attention to herself, you should be able to get across undetected. Assuming you pass the Intrusion check.

I will indeed be drawing attention to myself.

Balanced Guard, Block, Riposte

I have Coordination for when I'm being shot. I will sneak up on someone who seems easy to kill, take them out, then look as though I'm trying to escape. I will draw their attention away from the ship.

We don't have another plan, so might as well start this. I begin my distraction-making.

"So destroy it then," Vera-Kin says. "It'll force him to come out of his fortress to sustain his men."

"Because that'd be a waste!" Wazo Kell says. "I have my own people to think about here. Taking the fortress for myself would be so much more secure than a resort by the sea. This place is much harder to defend than the inner city, but the fortress is the only place with access to water. Everything else was shut down long ago, or poisoned."

-

"Squad 10, form ranks, ten across!" one of Tarne's officers shouts from the observation deck.

"Roger, roger!" the super droids drone as they begin organizing into the formation requested. Except one droid, who suddenly finds himself cut in two by a surprise swipe from a crimson lightsaber.

"What the..." the officer says, snapping out a pair of macrobinoculars to get a better look at the disruption. "STOP HER!"

Every droid and soldier in the area is whirling in your direction, Ti!

Xeth- you are clear to start sneaking.

"But then you won't be able to draw Tarne out!" Vera-Kin says. "What if we help you take control of the pump station? What's so difficult about holding it?"

Xeth will make his way across the yard to get to the STAP, moving quickly and quietly between the scrap piles.

"You're just more guns to me," Wazo Kell says. "Unless you're saying that you're really THAT much better than even my best guys. Or me.

"As for holding the pump station, not only is it well-guarded but there is an outpost nearby that is meant to reinforce the guards at the pump station."

-

Xeth has started moving! It will be three Intrusion checks to get there undetected. You roll four 6s on the first roll and pass just fine.

Ti- the droids are going to open fire!

"So attack the outpost and we'll handle the pump station," Vera-Kin says. "Or vice versa, if you prefer."

Not tapping anything this turn, the schticks I mentioned above are on, as is Coordination if applicable.

I will try to put as much distance between me and my attackers as possible.

Since this is a VERY dangerous situation, I will advise you here- seek cover! If you aren't attacking, it is always wise to track down a means of protecting yourself besides just your own abilities.

In general, cover gives +2 Parry when staying hunkered down, or just +1 Parry if shooting from behind it.

-

Does Vera-Kin want to make an actual Persuasion pitch to get Wazo Kell on board for this idea?

Cover it is. No need to shoot.

Having cut down one of her foes, Tilulla is facing incoming blasterfire from only twenty-four droids! Uh oh...

Relying on the Force to guide her hand and relying even more on the large shard of metal she is hiding behind, Ti is deflecting lasers away like a madwoman. Not a single bolt manages to strike her, but her cover is starting to slag and melt from the heat of multiple direct blasts.

The lesson here is- it is very hard to hit a Jedi that is going fully defensive!

Xeth keeps moving and rolls all 5s. Nobody notices him as he gets to the side of the yard where the STAPs are parked.

If I still have cover, same deal.

Once it's gone, I'm tapping Balanced Guard.

You do, but the torrent of lasers totally melts it this time. Ti takes a glancing hit from a droid for 1 damage as the scrapmetal collapses to the ground in a burning mess.

But Xeth has made it to the STAP undetected! He is right beneath the observation platform where the red-uniformed officer is directing the droids from, and in position to hop on the speeder.

They will know you are there once you start the engine, Xeth.

I'm running, looking for cover, and tapping Balanced Guard.
