STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Respite

Nothing to it but to do it. Xeth will hop on the STAP and rev that engine! Once he is settled on it and ready, he is going to zip over to Ti and give her a lift.

The whir of the STAP's engine starting gets the attention of the officer on the observation deck.

"Hey, stop him!" he shouts, and now the droids split their attention between the two Jedi. Ti dives for cover and I'll save her tap as the new hunk of scrap protects her adequately.

Xeth- do you want to take a defensive maneuver? The STAP itself is a viable target, but provides +2 Armor to yourself (and an additional +1 Armor because of Jinks Master). It will delay you getting to Ti.

I have some cover for probably a couple turns, and one defensive tap to burn after that. Do whatever to keep yourself safe Xeth, even if it takes a couple turns.

I'm scrambling at this point, but the engines flaring up at Xeth's command gives me some hope. I risk a glance over my cover to see how many I'm still dealing with after some broke off for Xeth.

If Ti is okay with it, Xeth will take a defensive maneuver as he zips over toward her.

Twelve and twelve on Ti and Xeth!

Staying totally defensive serves Ti well, especially with the Balanced Guard tap. She takes no damage once again, frantically deflecting lasers.

Flamethrower droids are starting to advance on her position. They'll be within firing range next turn.

Xeth zigs and zags across the courtyard under heavy fire! He rolls a single success, which will act as Parry against the droids, and you get +1 Defense from Daredevil as you tweak the STAP's setting to make it more maneuverable.

Xeth takes 5 damage as he zooms across the yard. He will reach Ti in a turn!

Fine by me, I've taken 1 damage so far and have some time.

Oh, sorry- Ti, your cover has been destroyed again.

Can Xeth zip over and pick up Ti without stopping? Xeth wants to get out of here quickly.

Ok, I have no good defense left. Thinking of using a Force point on Evade or Dash. Will Evade work on the whole lot of them, or just one? Or could I dash out of range of my pursuers?

Actually, I'm not attacking, so I should be able to continue to have Coordination up, yeah? That might suffice.

It would be an Agility roll from Ti to hop on without Xeth slowing.

I am down with making the roll. I prepare to leap.

Leap you do, catching hold of the STAP just as a wall of flame comes your way! Ti is on-board!

"Let's get the hell out of here," Xeth says to Ti. He puts the STAP into overdrive and takes it toward the fortress wall, intending to go up and over it.

"Are they following us?" Xeth asks Ti.

The high-pitched whine of repulsor engines coming from behind tells you all you need to know, Xeth. You are being pursued by men on STAPs, the ones from the observation deck.

Xeth will put on the gas! He doesn't want to be caught or shot down before he can reach the Nexu's Grin.

Well, I'll switch to one of my blasters, for what good it will do. Are there weapons on the ship I can man instead?

The STAP has forward-facing blaster cannons that Xeth can use. Ti arming herself will certainly be handy for the chase.

The Jedi are being pursued by four men on STAPs. Either you can lose them, or you can blast them down. They will certainly be shooting at you. Once Xeth reaches 20, he has arrived at the Nexu's Grin.

Ti is afforded the armor of the STAP, but her Defense is down since she using a gun. She gets to shoot at the pursuers freely at a slight penalty due to Xeth jinking about.

Edited- Xeth has a mild head start, and there is a chance that their fire will hit a) the STAP, b) Xeth, or c) Ti.

If the STAPs have the same score as you, they can be attacked via lightsaber provided Xeth does shoot ahead.

Oh, I'd prefer lightsaber, lots more damage.

"Xeth, can you get me close?" I ask, while weighing my options.

While we're waiting for Xeth, I will say that keeping near the STAPs means letting them catch up to you.
