STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Respite

Ti probably feels much more comfortable with a lightsaber in hand! The STAP tries to pull away from her when he figures out what she is going to do. His Pilot roll shows two successes, while Ti shows seven. Unfortunately for STAP D, he doesn't pull away in time. Ti drives her lightsaber directly into his fuel tank and the STAP explodes.

Xeth gets two successes and presses on, pulling away from the explosion as the other STAPs drive through it.

STAP A is playing catch-up, but B and C keep firing. Xeth has to duck as a few bolts come too close, taking 3 damage. Ti just deflects further incoming blasts, minimizing damage down to a point.

Looks like I can flay these things pretty quickly at melee range. Want to get me close Xeth?

Could Xeth reverse or turn around and shoot the other STAPs?

You can choose to delay and let them catch up to you, but keep in mind you are fleeing from an army here. These are the just the faster men.

Xeth will delay and swerve about this turn, seeing if any get close enough for Ti to destroy.

If they are offering to drop us off in the area, Vera-Kin will accept! She will see if Barker or Navir know how to drive a ship, so that they don't have to take up any of Wazo Kell's personnel to get there.

Barker has some very mild driving capability, Vera, but Wazo Kell is not interested in letting you borrow one of his valuable speeders. He can have you dropped off.

STAP A actually manages to overtake you as he tries to catch up, giving Ti the opportunity to land a blow on him as he zips past. You carve a groove into the side of his STAP and the engine starts smoking...

STAP B starts creeping up, while STAP C opens fire again. Not a chance of him hitting with Xeth zig-zagging like he is.

Seems like this is a good option. I'm one-shotting these things (or I assume so with the smoking engine). I will proceed with my course of action: Balanced, Riposte, Block

Xeth is going to speed ahead this time, letting Ti get a slash at A while he passes and getting ahead of any reinforcements coming.

Having gotten in front, STAP A decided to play it evasive this turn. As such, Ti has to swing at him against his roll. He rolls three successes on his Pilot check, effectively giving him three Parry against Ti. She rolls six successes total, though, and severs one of his engines. He goes dive-bombing into the ground and explodes.

The others play catch-up.

Xeth's call here. Maybe slow down, but not do a full turnaround. we don't want others catching up. I'm going to hit up some taps soon too to make sure I one-shot these next two.

We're both a little dinged up, and so is our ride. Xeth is going to try speeding ahead to get to the Nexu's Grin.

One STAP fires and the other chases! The STAP that fires rolls four successes and hits the STAP pretty hard... thankfully, Xeth's Jinks Master helps keep the thing in the air.

Vera-Kin will take that offer. Dropped off it is!

Ahhh keep going!

In that case, Vera, one of Kell's men takes you out toward the military outpost in a flatbed speeder. He drops you off nearby, just outside of viewing range.

The military outpost is more or less a pillbox stationed on the coast, overlooking a gravel beach. Huge boulders dominate the scenery, with a sheer cliff drop just below the pillbox. Two-man patrols maintain the area, and you can tell that the pillbox has some heavy firepower packed in there.

Neutralizing the pillbox puts Wazo Kell on your good side, since it cannot then send reinforcements to the pump station.

It is roughly at this time that Xeth and Ti have snuck into the fortress and are observing.

The dice just don't like you, Xeth. Only two more successes this time. You can see the Nexu's Grin in the distance, rapidly approaching...

The pursuers open fire! One nicks your ride gently for 1 damage.

Obviously a direct assault would be a terrible idea.

Vera-Kin has Lifting. Maybe she could drop a sizable boulder onto the pillbox to crush it and disable it?

It would be Super Lifting to do any meaningful damage with something heavy enough to crack the pillbox, and a few points spent.
