STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Respite

Vera-Kin is going to have to risk it. She'll charge in and immediately go for cover, trying to figure out what the danger is.

Coordination in use.

You charge headlong into the room, immediately coming under fire! You run into some sort of heavy object while deflecting bolts. Nothing hits you but the danger is high and those bolts pack a punch!

Your cover is dangerous.

Can Vera-Kin run from her current cover to another piece of cover while seeing where the shots are coming from?

That will be Observation and an Agility check from Vera-Kin to jump safely from cover to cover while looking.

Let's go for it. Throw a Defensive Leap in there since we're staying defensive and she doesn't have her high Defense Guard in. Jump into cover but take a quick gander at the source.

Vera goes flipping away just as lasers tear into the heavy object she was using as cover. It explodes hilariously more than you thought it would, and you tumble behind another just like it.

The lasers are coming from two ceiling-mounted cannons in the far top corners of the rectangular room you are in. They are heavy duty cannons being operated from the room above.

lol, damn

How goes Xeth's and Ti's progress to where Vera was going to be?

If Vera-Kin throws her lightsaber at one, she can't defend against the other, right?

Could she jump up and destroy them?

Correct.

It would need a Leaping check and Charge to do it quickly.

Vera-Kin is up to the task. She'll go leaping up and sever one of the gun's barrels to render it useless and then drop back into cover if possible.

It slipped my mind that you have Charge now. In which case, this situation is resolved fairly easily. You aren't able to drop back into cover after you destroy the first gun (which you do), but you manage to minimize the damage when the remaining gun goes off. You only take 1 damage as you jump clear.

And then the second gun is eviscerated like the first.

Now that the danger is over... you realize that you are standing in the armory. You are surrounded by dozens of racks holding an assortment of blasters, as well as crates of ammunition (some of which were detonated by the shooting).

Navir and Barker join you shortly.

"We'll be surrounded in moments," Navir says. "I hope you had a plan for getting out."

Barker growls that he should trust your judgment.

"If you say so," Navir says. "I'll get started rigging this place to blow. You keep those troops occupied or this won't go well."

Bring us some awesome guns Vera.

Time to pick up our end, Rexx?

(I'm sure you're not far off!)

Vera-Kin will see if there are any handy weapons here in the armory. If there is nothing cool or helpful, she is going to proceed to the corridor to make sure that nobody passes down it. Maybe she and Barker can commandeer the hidden guns in the hallway?

Can she sense anyone above them?

You have a limited knowledge of guns, Vera. It looks like most of these are blaster carbines and you aren't sure that all of them work (due to the atmospheric weirdness of the planet).

You could definitely do that if you didn't sense soldiers from above coming down from the pillbox's gunnery to box you in.

As for Xeth and Ti...

You are arriving at the point where you dropped Vera-Kin off at about this time. As a reminder, it is an area near the coast where R3 and Gator were detecting one of the major broadcast signals. This one belonged to Wazo Kell, one of the three warlords.

The trashed and decayed area in which he resides used to be a major vacation resort. It seems rather empty this time.

Xeth will ask R3 to scan the area while he brings the ship down to rest a short distance from the resort where Kell works.

"I hope things went better for Vera," Xeth says to Ti. "Otherwise, we're down a Jedi Master and a Wookiee."

Vera-Kin nods to Barker and draws her pistol, assuming a position in the doorway.

"Keep the hall clear," Vera-Kin says. "We need to maintain a departure path."

We probably can't locate Vera easily. Would it be worth opening a comm channel with Kell? I doubt we simply want to follow Vera's path, but may be able to get some information out of him.

Soldiers incoming, Vera! A man in a nicer uniform and old-fashioned medals is barking orders for them to take up positions and leveling his pistol down the hall in your direction.

You could try sending a message to Kell. His broadcast channel is still open.
