STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Respite

"What do you mean by that?" Vera-Kin asks, leveling her lightsaber toward him just in case he gets bright ideas.

Go go go! You are back in the air and on your way to Vera. Sensors are still coming back fuzzy...

-

"You're surrounded," the officer tells you.

"R3, see if you can boost the sensors," Xeth says. "I want to know what I'm flying into."

"Am I?" Vera-Kin says. She surveys the room and assesses whether or not it is empty, reaching out with the Force. She has an idea of what he means, but she wants to make sure there is no immediate danger.

R3 can try to boost the scan. He whines and beeps about how much the planet's atmospheric disturbances are messing with his equipment and ability to function in small ways.

G8 queries what you think caused this electromagnetic mess.

-

The officer just nods. You do not sense anyone in the immediate room around you, Vera... but you sense that what the officer says is right. You are surrounded and the noose is tightening.

Vera-Kin frowns.

"Are you almost done?" Vera-Kin shouts down the hall to Navir. "We need to go."

Navir confirms that he has everything rigged to blow.

"You won't make it out," the officer repeats.

"Can it," Navir hisses to the officer. "What are we in for, Jedi?"

Barker growls that the pillbox is surrounded.

"I had just assumed that the interference was atmospheric and due to some natural change, even if it hasn't always been like this," I say to my droid. "I'm not sure what else has the power to change the climate so drastically."

So we see any outposts or towers that might lead us to Vera? We don't necessarily need specifics, just a general area or obvious building.

Xeth apologizes to R3 and asks him to keep trying.

"Hopefully we won't be here much longer," Xeth says.

"And yeah, I thought it was natural myself. I've not been anywhere like this but I've heard of worlds with stormy weather and too much static in the air. Probably a reason for that. Why, do you think it might've been something else, G8?"

Xeth keeps a lookout for anything ahead while still taking the Nexu's Grin at a fast pace.

"Apparently we're fighting our way out," Vera-Kin says. She looks between her allies, both capable warriors in their own ways. "Any suggestions?"

G8 is unsure. He does not think the constant static storm is normal or natural though.

R3 agrees, and reports that something is coming up on your radar. And coming up fast.

-

Navir just smacks the side of his rifle for a dramatic charge-up noise.

"Let's go then," Navir says. "We won't want to be anywhere near this pillbox in the next few minutes."

Barker is already moving for the exit.

Uh...is it moving toward us, or are we moving toward it?

Toward you.

Uh oh.

"Ti, get on the guns, please," Xeth says. "R3, what are we reading here?"

Vera-Kin will follow and see what is to be seen outside the pillbox.

I get to the guns. Will schticks help me here?

Lacking Pilot Schticks, unfortunately not.

Xeth- R3 says he can't be sure. You can probably figure it out, though.

-

Stepping out into the entrance corridor gets you quite the sight, Vera.

The area around the pillbox, as described early, is a combination of rocky coastal cliffs and remaining scraps from other complexes and artifacts from Respite's past (like most of the planet). You picked your way through it before.

Now coming through the scrap are more of Tarne's forces- an amalgamation of battle droids and uniformed men.

The uniform is still bothering you. The fact that all of these men are armed and coming for you is more bothersome, though.

How far away are they? Vera-Kin is going to flourish her lightsaber as she prepares to engage.

"Cover me," Vera-Kin says to her associates. She does not expect Barker to stay back and fight from a distance, so the comment is more aimed at Navir.

Xeth is going to kick the shields up in power and instruct R3 to be ready to balance them according to the radar's readings.

"Ti, get ready to shoot," Xeth says. "I'm not a Jedi if those aren't fighters."
