Ubisoft's first attempt? Hasn't Splinter Cell: CT, DA and Conviction all had multiplayer as well?

And while you, Phoenix, may have been okay with waiting longer, I think more players and fans of the series would be annoyed with it being delayed for the multiplayer. Since AC is a singleplayer franchise first and foremost. And I never appreciate any form of backseat modding in my forums.
Well then I'm sorry, I suppose I'm just a bit more patient for things I think will be worth it then others.
And wow, really Peach? Are you honestly going to make a big deal just because I kindly asked someone not to do something? It's not like I told him "Hey, don't use profanity in this forum!" I even just mentioned that I was only playing around. You shouldn't take it so personally; though I'm not telling you what to do. If he wants to cuss, I'm not going to stop him and I don't expect anyone else to. Sorry if you thought I was trying to step into your jurisdiction and "mod".
You only said that you were joking around and weren't serious after I told you that I don't allow others to try and boss people about. You need to drop the overly defensive attitude.
And I think you're in the minority there; people play Assassin's Creed for the singleplayer. The fact that it has a mulitplayer mode now, and that it was a success, is simply a plus, but most definitely not something worth delaying the game for.
For that matter, there's really nothing wrong with the multiplayer except for minor glitches which they've already released at least one patch for. It's just simply not the way you want it to be; that doesn't make it bad or wrong. It's simply what Ubisoft intended it to be.
Peach you really need to read my posts. I love AC: Brotherhood and the rest of the games. The only AC games I haven't played are for the PSP. I didn't say there was anything wrong with the game, I just said I thought there were ways I thought it could have been better. Did I not say I'd rate it 10/10?
Now along with this, you say that I'm in the minority but how do you know people play it for the single player only? AC Brotherhood was announced to have a Multiplayer. Now while people play the AC series for its single player I would agree because of course, there was no multiplayer. Now unless you want to take a poll of those whom play the game asking why they play it, you shouldn't assume. But of course, it doesn't matter to me as I know there are some people who may like it in other ways as well; which would only add to the game which is already amazing.
As for an overly defensive attitude, you are the one who brought it up. You got defensive because you thought I was trying to tell someone what to do. It's not your job to make me look stupid, that's my job =P I think I do a very good job of it thank you.
It is worth noting that when Brotherhood was first announced, information was primarily focused on the multiplayer, and fan support, critics and players alike, was at a massive low. General interest skyrocketed when the game's singleplayer campaign was announced. So that's something to think about, I suppose.

Yup. When it was first announced and they focused on multiplayer info, everyone was just like "Oh. Um. Okay." and thought that it was going to be a rushed crapjob of a singleplayer campaign (or there wouldn't be one at all) because they were concentrating on multiplayer.
When they started announcing info on the singleplayer game, that's when everyone started going "Assassin's Creed, hell yes let's go!"
The singleplayer is why people buy and play the games. The multiplayer is a nice little addon which extends the playability of the game, but it's just a plus, nothing more.
Yeah but I think it's fair to say that people don't just play it for the single player. You and Peach both play the multiplayer yourselves, and I never did say there was anything wrong, just things I thought that could be better. I say that with every game because no game will ever really be perfect. In all fairness, I love AC and I think i'd consider it the game of the year as well as better then it's predecessors.
EDIT: and Peach, you think when they announced multiplayer nobody said "Oh wow, AC's introducing a multiplayer? This might be interesting, I'll buy it to check it out!"

That's not what we mean when we say that people play AC for the singleplayer. Yes, people play the multiplayer, obviously; it's the only multiplayer I play. But they buy it because of the singleplayer campaign. They don't buy it specificly for the multiplayer.
I highly, highly doubt it.
There are still a lot of people who don't even know it has multiplayer when they purchase the game. Ubisoft waaay backed off on the concentration on advertising that when the reception to the announcements showed that the singleplayer is where all of the interest for the game was.
Ubisoft even mentioned how implementing the initial patch took some time because not enough people were playing the multiplayer right after launch! Compared to first-week sales records, the obvious conclusion was that most players were playing the campaign first.
I know I had finished the main story before even touching the multiplayer.
So did I. I wanted to play through the story mode before I touched the multiplayer but that's what I do for every game. I don't think "Lets buy this game and play against others" I think to get it for all of its reasons.
and you highly, highly doubt it? Then you are in a fantasy world because there are people who did. I know three people just in my town who bought it, 2 of them for multiplayer, 1 of them for both, even if 6 others bought it for single player. Single player is more popular yes, but multiplayer is entertaining as well and people do play it.

He is right that they primarily advertised the multiplayer. I didn't even know it had a singleplayer campaign until you guys fanboyed over it. 😛Edit: Hey Neph this is why you read recent posts first doofus. Doi.
They did at first.
The reaction to it was not favorable, and they backed off on it a lot.
Now that the game's been out for a month, they're going back to advertising the multiplayer more, since a lot of copies have sold and people have had time to complete the singleplayer game.

That's great. I sell about that many copies of the game in an hour on a decent day. And just about everyone who asks about it, asks how the singleplayer is, and then with some hesitance and trepidation asks about the multiplayer. The primary interest is in the singleplayer.

I'm not going to argue over the fact that single player is more popular, but you insist on deluding yourself that nobody gets it for multiplayer.
And you are not reading.
I said that very few people get it primarily for the multiplayer. People get it because they're interested in the multiplayer, I never denied that. But very few people, if anyone, get it for the multiplayer first and foremost. That's a secondary addition and interest for 99% of people who are into AC or interested in it.
No one buys an IP's first attempt at multiplayer for the multiplayer alone, because it's nothing but a gamble.

That is kind of weird. At the Gamestop in San Fran most of the people ask about it's multiplayer. I guess it depends a lot on region?
People ask about it, I did say that. However, it's not a primary concern, and it's more a case of "Is it any good?". Which, honestly, I understand them asking. I was hesitant about it myself.
