This distinction seems very feeble at best anyways, any attack is obviously initiated in the mind. I mean of course it is the age old problem of "does this work in the other universe or not"...but I don't think there's much to suggest that this weird fire power the queen person has wouldn't work. All mind powers were null except for Jasper's emotion dampening, Renesme's memory implanting and Alice's ability to predict the future.

However, Renesme's was explained away as being a genetic compatibility thing (fine, but poor writing, imo), and Jasper's is not understood too well except that he doesn't use them to attack or harm anyone. One could explain that he controls hormones which are not central to the brain, per se (but we could argue the hypothalamus is (which it is), and discredit that.) Actually, those are the exact reasons. Bella can protect her peeps from corporeal attack powers, and any and all attack powers that originate from the mind. There was no exception. The key is "attack powers" or those used to attack or harm others. ON top of this, it was mind invasion as well...but not emotions control or memory injection.

Akasha or any of the other vamps will project their mind attack powers and they will bounce off just the same as any of the others, or be completely nulled, just the same as the others.

Just noticed: it wasn't just the electric power, it was also the mist.

You keep implying that the Ricevamps will get in range of Renatas powers. They won't. She falls right after Bella, Eric after that, then the Ricevamps move in for the kill.

So, basically, the same failed arguments, over and over.

Distance doese not matter, at all. Not even a little bit.

Bella does not have to project her shield thousands of feet away. In fact, that would be stupid if she did that as it would make it much easier to get behind her shield. The only thing she neesd to do is simply put up her shield: that's it. Shoot a bullet at a steel wall from 1000 feet away or 10 feet away: it doesn't matter.

Renata is fine, as long as she's touching Bella. Anyone who tries to attack either of them will stop what they are doing and turn away, confused. Distance does not matter: only the fact that Renata or the person she is shielding, is attacked. If you tried to fire a nuke from across the world, to hit Renata, you'd stop, confused, and not remember what you were trying to do.

This whole debate hinges on the one question whether Bella can block attacks originating from another minds or only attacks influencing her (or those who she chooses to protect) minds.

If the first is true, then the Anne Rice Vampires will likely have a problem with a Bella/Renata team up that they can't possibly harm, with either physical attack nor their special powers. If that's not the case the Queen alone can likely kill most of them with her incendiary power .

Leaving special powers out for a bit, who do you two think would win in an only physical brawl?
