Yeah. I only wear Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger and Ray-Bann shades, my dad bought me a convertible, it's a Porsche. My girlfriend is named Lauren, my parents and her parents are best friends. We can't have sex until we're married, when I get that job in my dad's company after I finish Harvard, but we do it anyway. We also snort coke.
So rich kids, they adhere to the "no sex before marriage" rule?
This movie, BTW. epic.

Yeah, remember that one time she wrote a story using me as the main antagonist? Was hilarious.

Choose a formation, make a game plan etc. Basically the same an AF coach does. However, because football is a much more flowing game, players have to rely on their own creativity and tactical insight not too long after the first whistle. Surely you're not going to deny that American Football is mostly stop-and-go action, and doesn't demand that much creativity from the players.
I somewhat agree.
American football is a stop and go, action, chess match, at the Pro-levels and mostly at the collegiate levels. A the collegiate levels and at the high-school levels, it comes down to how skilled and coordinate the teams are, but not so much as "arranging pieces in the perfect way no a chess board" as it does playing an intelligent chess match.
It really comes down the coaching and prep done between each team...plus physical abilities of the players. There is actually a formula written about the probability of success for a team. It's kind of complex...but it applies to soccer as well as football.
As far as intelligence required to coach, successfully, at the NFL level? You better damn well believe that the coaches are intelligent mother ****ers. I would say that a head-coach in the NFL has a higher IQ, on average, than the average head coach for any of the professional leagues in Europe. Actually, that's a pretty easy guess to make.
I'm rambling, now.
Whoa:

You ****ing serious? You ever hear of a busted play? A punt return? A kickoff return?
Punt and kick returns are all creativity. Sure, the runner has guys blocking for him, but it's up to the runner to find a hole and exploit it.
Look at Barry Sanders:
Dude had one of the worst offensive lines in history, most of his runs were pulling Houdini moves outta his ass. It was all creativity for him.
Check out Randall Cunningham:
No creativity? Pfffffft. NFL football has creativity in spades, babe.

As for RJ, as I said you can go on naming players that are somewhat creative and some situations that require a teeny bit of creativity. However, my point is, American football is not a creativty or technique-based sport.
Anyway, I'll stop discussing American football vs. football now, as neither side will give up, I usually don't want to discuss it anyway as it is tedious and pointless and I'm oblivious to where I actually entered the discussion, on this point.
Also, for future reference, stop calling me babe. Makes me feel a bit queasy.
It's not a creativity based sport? Are you stoned? Not a technique based sport? crylaugh
Plays are drawn up, the coaches give each of their players a job to do. But the plays do not always work out as expected. Sometimes players have to improvise, adapt to the blitz, shit like that. High caliber players are expected to create opportunities, to think on their feet, to turn a 5 yard loss into a 20 yard gain. To rush in, spin past the O line (technique), and crush the QB. You didn't even watch the vid I posted before, did you?
Check out Eli Manning and Tyree here:
Yeah, no creativity indeed 🙄 That play is the very epitome of creativity and technique.
