I agree. All I'm saying is that Palpatine is the one who gave out before Mace in that particular scene. If Palpatine would have kept up his lightning, or tried to attack Mace again (while Mace still had his saber) then Palps almost certainly would have been killed.
Don't tell me to read through your assumptions anymore. One post to disprove this:
As long as Windu keeps reflecting, Palpatine can continue.
If you cannot, through logic we gather that Palpatine threw the fight.
Originally posted by ShoesAfter that statement was made, Mace continued deflecting teh lightning until Palps himself was mangled, and stopped manifesting it. Stop clinging to a disproven statement. If Mace were as exhausted as you seem to think, then he would have been overwhelmed by Palpatine's lightning.... But he wasn't.
Obviously not, but the novelization makes it clear that Mace was about to give.
I gave you a chance. See above post. It's canon fact that as long as Windu reflects, Palpatine will only continue. So what if his fake face melts? That's not even close to killing the most powerful sith lord in history. You've also neglected to adress the fact that Palpatine blasted him with lightning mere seconds after he "lost".
Futhermore, Mace was exhausted to the point of collapsing. The quote is not disproven, as we don't have a timeframe of how long he kept going after that statement was made. He could have gone an extra second, or half a second.
How many seconds is considered "mere"?
True, but people seem to think that Sidious was half-dead from absorbing his own lightning, and that's why he couldn't continue. Dooku wasn't.
Bane collapsed after unleashing his TK wave, and then lay there for several minutes. If Palpatine gave everything he had (plus his bonus form the pain) he wouldn't rise up agian.
