chaos king was actually the very first oblivion, when the universe cycles through destruction all the abstracts are recreated with the new universe, chaos king was the very first oblivion
the creation event weakened chaos king considerably and when this universe formed the japenese gods discovered him(in a pocket dimension) and named him mikaboshi they then proceded to populate his dimension with gods and forced this severly weekend enitity to the underworld were he had no choice but to plot his way back to position.
after eons of planing he is now on his way to get back his position as the primal void and undo creation

this pretty much sums up everything

Pak seems to have rather clumsily cobbled together Mikaboshi's small role in Shinto Mythology with the impersonal concept of Chaos from Greek mythology. I can't say I approve, its like trying to mix beer and wine in the same glass.

marvel tried to make some of there origions all related and certain chracter real (mikaboshi) or else there mythology would also be fake even in marvel

The writers are trying to simplified their origins, which in turn seem to ruin the characters for me.

eternity has many opposites besides death (entropy, abraxas, unbeing, edfis rex, oblivion, and a couple other void guys running around)

mikaboshi isnt from this universe

scarlet witch omniversal level power "the chaos wave" that came out of no where with no explenation wasnt retcon so this definitly wont be

nevertheless...issue 3 is out on wed.

no matter what happens in issue #3, chaos war will still NOT be "bigger than the infinity gauntlet" and easily renders the statement "more cosmic than annihilation" inaccurate.

i mean they didn't even leave earth. nightmare's realm they popped in and then popped out. they showed mika invading the underworld but i wouldn't necessarily call that "big" or "cosmic"

So the marketing department lied to us!!!??

I'm going to be soooooooooooooo mad next time I buy Marvel comics.

This still may not be complete crap, unlike Secret Invasion which was even lamer than what you would hope from a battered and destroyed Skrull empire.

it's more like they invited people to compare chaos war to IG and Annihilation while marvel was knowingly lying to themselves that the comparisons would be favorable to CW

ok it certainly messes with mikaboshi's (and seemingly oblivion's) origin but otherwise it's a fun read.

Disagree. It's been pretty uneventful for the first two issues.

just read it....galactus fell, herc took matters into hands as amatsu seems unbeatable

better issue than the previous two. Herc is a complete moron, and (so far) has been written as such. I find the way Cho and Sersi to be written to be pretty irritating and campy...to the extent that when Chaos King speaks, i appreciate the haiku all the more.

As for Galactus

There's really no point in him being in the story, so far...nor anyone else aside from Herc and Cho, if you believe what Athena says at the end. Anyway, as to what happened, Zeus summoned a gigantic thunderbolt which staggered Galactus to one knee. A few pages later Big G was up again...but we find that Zeus of course, is not under some mere "amp." Zeus is actually just a puppet vessel for Mika himself and a whole shit storm of enslaved gods. They literally ran out of Zeus's body. So Mikaboshi and the enslaved gods in zeus' body staggered a hungry Galactus to 1 knee. That I can buy.
