Actually, it's probably Quesada or someone at the top that thought Mikaboshi wasn't imposing enough so they ghouled him up and gave him a name that matched the title of the event. And I too want to see Mikaboshi. I want to see mythos adopted and adapted into the MU, not some generic ghoulish being running around. Can't take Chaos King seriously even though his plan is cleverly woven.

Not a bad showing for Galactus either (He got up after a page or two) unless you think their is a large gap between him and Skyfathers which I've never believed to be the case. At least when it comes to Odin.
And if Ares was legitimately himself -which I believe he was- his comment about Zeus unleashing his own true power supports that it was mostly Zeus.
From all I've seen, I'd guess it was their durability that was amped more than anything. Perhaps with the destruction of death being the biggest factor.
Galactus sure is lucky this wasn't a possessed Odin though. 😄
I wouldn't use the word "slightly" as a proxy for "definitely augmented" and "some of that incredible power" as that's more of a biased view. I'd say "augmented to an indeterminable degree"

Of particular interest to me is where Montclare directly compared Mikaboshi with Galactus. He stated that Mikaboshi "is much more powerful than Galactus" since Galactus is on a "planetary level."
That doesn't leave me with much optimism with this issue. Montclare seems to be in the same line as McDuffie of the infamous armbar and of the "the Ultimate Nullifier belongs to Uatu" foolishness in this regard.
Galactus isn't on the level of his heralds. 😘

Not quite accurate. Galactus uses tech to devour the planet, not require. There's a clear distinction: the tech makes it more efficient in that Galactus doesn't have to expend his own energy reserves to convert matter into energy so he can feed.
He's perfectly capable of doing it without tech, as he's demonstrated many, many times.
And then let's not forget instances like Annihilation either...where the blast expands to beyond 3 star systems.
He's clearly beyond planetary level; even a casual street-level-only reader would know.

Will this be feature in Chaos King#1? I prefer Mikaboshi making 1 of his fellow Japanese Pantheon as his queen (by force 😛), but the writers had to disconnect his origin w/ them!!!
