What was Palpatine's shatterpoint? Because I recall Windu thinking it was Palpatine's fear and was proven wrong. If the novel says Palpatine was being forced back can you provide the quote? Or are you gonna say fvck that too if it does not agree with what you thought you saw in the movie.
As far as the movie I am not going to argue with you about, because you must have seen a new edited version that I didn't hear about.
1. Anakin
2. Don't have the novel in front of me at this moment but have read it many times and will provide material later.
3. From the link I posted earlier: Mace is on the offensive, and Sids on the defensive (being driven back) from 1:12 until 1:38 (at which point he puts Sids on his ass with a boot to the face).

Goodness, I should have stopped reading there. What part of "stalemate" isn't computing? Despite the battle being "effortless" for Mace, he and Palpatine were equal -- neither could make headway on the other (until Mace used Shatterpoint as well) -- the superconducting loop Vaapad brings to the table was in full effect. That is what I meant when I made the "white on rice" comment.
As for Palpatine not using force powers: All I can say is that if he would have been in a position where he could have used his powers in a more offensive manner, surely he would have done so instead of losing (it's not like he refrained from using them against Yoda, after all.) But if I had to guess, I'd say that it would be quite difficult to manifest any type of formidable force powers, when you're locked in a perpetual stalemate with your opponent and moving at blur-esque speeds. /shrug
Anyhow, what are we still arguing about? Mace won. Endastory.
I will get back to this, or maybe I won't (lol). I probably won't since I am not really disagreeing with that. I think you forgot the reason for this debate. It was not so we can make excuses for Palpatine's loss.
Whether the duel was shit or not doesn't matter though (although I would have liked it much better had it been done the way the novel depicts it). The point(s) between you and I is whether or not Mace forced Sids on the defensive and whether or not Vaapad + Shatterpoint makes Mace superior. The answer to both is yes.

Also I am still trying to figure out how Mace escaped this...

juyo vs vaapad
i jus wanna say i read all the debates on palpatine vs mace and makashi superior posts.1st sidious use dunmoch, juyo with a touch of ataru's acrobatics only.if u look up what dunmoch is you'll see that's what he used.i don't believe there ever was a stalemate.think people it was time 4 the endgame, sidious is a master of farseeing,he fore saw this battle and planned ahead, making sure (almost)everything went as he planned.plus juyo as well as vaapad has a very small window of defeat.(juyo)when Anakin intervened it exploited a moment of vulnerability 1st their agruement of to leave him dead or alive 2nd when he cut off his weapon hand.which distracted Mace from his main objective.(vaapad)vaapad's state of mind also accepts the willingness NOT TO KILL.both forms teach its practitioners do not hesitate to kill your opponent.Maul fell because he hesitated to kill kenobi.mace hesitated to kill sidious which made anakin (in defense)to cut off his weapon hand and for sidious to take advantage by appling a technique or maneuver from dun moch, thus executing force lightninng to finish him off.
juyo vs vaapad, that's a duel that (1) depends on which is more complete (2)depends on the practitioners or masters of either style.i have also seen this debate.we are forgetting that they say (the masters)say its incomplete.the sith say it is and its a sith's form.i believe its main defensive tactics are forgotten.they say juyo is vulnerable to force attacks such as force shoves (push) and pulls. which is affective at rattling their defense a true practitioner to this art will counter this vaapad does, next they say it leaves them open to counter attacks ,again a true practitioner to juyo will counter this as well vaapad does, i believe juyo had counter attacks to saber and force attacks but were lost to yoda's jedi and were well known before the wars of ruusan.remember some masters don't tell all or any of their secrets.in my opinion juyo was almost a closely guarded jedi secret to a very small select few,as well as vaapad.there is another master to both styles, that survived order 66,who that is only either up to GL or the EU to tell us.
