i live by my own set of rules.. social laws: i abide by some of them b/c either i agree with them or i can get away with not following them.
but when i gave an oath i lived by it it was my "word"
that is not two face.. two face is giving an oath that you will uphold the law and constitution and turn around and violate ppl's rights..
if i were in uniform i wouldnt hit you as much as you annoyed me but i am not nor do i represent the system now so i would hit you or anyone else if you were getting smart with me and goating me to hit you.

Yes, ethics is the study of morals. But when used in the form "I am ethical" it is the same as "I am moral", unless you want to tell me that you think about morality (which I guess sort of makes sense).

Only if the law and constitution give people rights to violate. Then it would be two-faced to help people and good to oppress them. Which is weird, but seems consistent with your ethics.

ppl in uniform live by certain ethics of their job they have a set standard.. i while in uniform fell underneath those ethics.. i am no longer held by those set of standards..
i dont live by any ethics anymore and in my military life any person who could not uphold their oath were sh#$ bags and there are many ppl in the military who do not live by their oath.. i did my best to adhere to them and i personally believe i did just that.
now for the soldier comment i wasnt a soldier i was a warrior a soldier is army.. 😉
if the laws and constitution were different lets say like the middle east ethics and i gave my word to uphold them even if it meant oppressing ppl i would do just that if it agreed and i gave my word to uphold them.
