Earlier today I was watching Showbiz Tonight on HLN, and they said that Mel's people claim that all the tapes aren't actually multiple tapes, and that it was actually all one phone call recorded on one night. They also said that Oksana is releasing one a week to draw the whole thing out and make it appear as if Gibson gets drunk and makes these calls every single day.

apparently the city may not have sufficient evidence to go after mel and if they did they may also have to go after his wife for extortion and other criminal acts if she further incriminates herself so she may not want to testify and if she doesnt Mel's ppl can go after the city if they tried anyways..

Mel Gibson was upset when he made his comments and those comments were most definitely racist... but let us not jump to conclusions.
Comments made in anger are known to misrepresent true feelings. An example we are all familiar with is a child telling their parents that they hate them or that they wish they were dead. We don't assume that just because they said it it must be true do we? Mel might not be perfect but he doesn't seem to BE a racist at heart.
And if using the N word makes you a racist then almost all of my friends and family are racist despite being black as the Kente family. I've known black guys with white friends that they call ni**as and I call my friends that no matter what color they are. I don't mean ANY insult in it though and would be furious if someone tried to offend me with it but that's never happened before. Words don't make a racist actions do and Mel Gibson worked closely with the man in my sig for many years. You don't work well with people you wish were dead and thats how strongly true "racists" feel about the races that they despise.
Mel was pissed, spouted off some random bullshit, and now the holy public want to rub his nose in it as if he were like some sort of role model before this all started. The guy may not be perfect but he's probably less racist than the chief of police in your town.
The people that we should really be concerned about being racists are the ones who are trying to win elections to govern our communities.
