Still waiting for Lord of Blunder to show that Thor doing a soul suck against a non magic/asgardian based character or Thanos lvl in power/willpower
Level in power or willpower has nothing to do with resisting a soul suck. Other factors are needed. But being a non asgardian probably has something to do with it. Did the comic hint or mention that Thor was able to do it ONLY because of a someone being magical or Asgardian?

Nope...NOTHING about it only working because Loki was Asgardian or Magical was mentioned (of course Loki is not Asgardian at all...he's a runt Frost Giant).
The point that some of these Thanos enthusiast cant handle is that there is NO SHOWING or PROOF on the behave of Thanos that indicates that he can withstand this kind of assault....
And you are correct h1a8, Thanos's power level has jack s**t to do with wether or not he can survive this attack; although Nihilist, with his supremely flawed reasoning ability, tried to argue just that...that because Thanos was powerful he automatically resists this attack...LOL!!
But at the end of the day, the Thanos fanboys have nothing reasonable to base their argument upon; all they can say is "it doesnt work because we are talking about Thanos dammit!"
LOL...

What proof is there he has a soul?
Well, he DID appear outside his body AFTER his death in Annihilation when he was shown with Death in front of Nova before he passed out after his fight with Annihilus. It didn't say "soul" but that's roughly enough for it to be a seen as a soul.

who cares?
If Thor's only option (and that's an IF) is an attack he has only once some years ago I don't think there's much to debate.
Thanos should win a solid 9/10 as he should against every high tier character as he surpasses them.
I can see Thor taking 1 or 2 if he goes all out llike in his fight with Durok and Thanos is too complacent at the time to let his guard down

I don't even see Thor taking a win from Thanos. :-/Thanos is a step up over Thor as much as Thor is a step up over Colossus or Namor.
true... as I said Thor might take one or two if he is at his most deterrmined and at the same time Thanos underestmates him enough to let him go all out on him.
Having said that I don't see any high herald taking a win against a determined going all out Thanos
