"The Golden Serpent is a criminal group that runs the parts of space that the Hutts do not," Takuan says. "They were run by the Lantarnas family at the Citadel. We killed them all, and you were there. Do you remember that at all?"
Admittedly, you do not. It all sounds vaguely familiar but nothing comes to mind.
"I'll get there," Takuan says, agitated. "I have to explain what happened first.
"When we arrived there, we did not realize that we had been lured into an elaborate plot and a trap for us. A supposed ally of Kuylen's found us and got us to kill the Lantarnas family in the name of getting a stone tablet.
"You sensed it before any of us. In the form of a discordant musical tone, playing incessantly."
(How much do you as a player remember from the Citadel story?)
Too far back! That would be the Mausoleum of Demnos!
Takuan will explain what he is talking about in greater detail-
The Ghost Citadel was a hive of scum and villainy that 'Kuylen' sent the Dark Jedi to with the mission of retrieving a stone tablet, rumored to be riddled with secrets of the Sith, much like the ones that Kuylen retrieved from Avalar. During the visit, Rah and Galder participated in fight pits and Rah managed to get an audience for his singing.
Unfortunately, it was all a ruse- Melkus Doon, a smuggler and excellent liar, manipulated us into killing off the Lantarnas family while becoming engaged to the only daughter of said family, so that he could come into power. The Dark Jedi nearly died in the process, but managed to pull through and exact revenge.
You became unavailable partway through said story... but Rah had received a hint from the Force that we were being lured into a trap. The discordant musical tone. During your unavailability, it was presumed that Rah had lost his mind, rambling about some tone.
Then you tried to crash our starship when we almost landed in the midst of an ambush, knocking out Tanic (our pilot) and saving us from certain death.
After that, Rah remained in his room on Epireus, the mountainous world that is hidden from spacers via sensor anomaly that the Dark Jedi use as a base.
"Not quite," Takuan explains.
Rah proceeded to be a useless, raving lunatic that stayed in his room on Epireus. He was free to come and go as he pleased but did not contribute to the group and actually caused some problems with the natives.
Takuan tried to intervene by putting a mental block in place... and it did not work as intended.
Takuan is quite powerful in the Force; being an Orphan, his natural talent for using it is incredibly high. Unfortunately, without proper training, it can be hard for him to control his own power.
"I caused you to block out your entire existence," Takuan says. "Alek developed in the void. That would have taken some time, though. Hence you don't remember any of that. What is your first solid memory?"
Rah looks pensive, "I guess it was some guy shouting at me in a market place after I ate some of his food. He demanded I pay for it and when I couldn't he pulled a blaster on me and I just reacted. I knocked it from his hand and smashed his head down on his market stall." He pauses for a second "When I saw the blood and realised I'd killed him I grabbed his purse and ran off into the stunned crowd."
He chuckles "Looking back I find it amusing that I was more shocked that he shouted at me than the fact I killed him so easily!"
He sighs "Anyway later on I was just singing to myself over a drink I'd bought with the stolen credits when Tarinda came up to me and said she liked my singing, was looking for a new singer for her band and was I interested." He looks up squarely at Takuan "I had nothing else doing so I agreed and that is pretty much that until all the trouble started on old Karky."
Takuan waits till he is sure you are done before speaking again.
"I'm surprised the Bureau didn't find you sooner," Takuan says. "Such is fate. Things happen when they are meant to.
"Now, I am not confident enough in my ability to reverse what I've done by myself," Takuan says. "Not to mention you might just go back to being totally insane if I undo it. That is where Hajid comes in."
Takuan explains that Hajid is a high-profile criminal from the Outer Rim, who has accumulated resources and personal power over the years. The man has impressive control of the Force and is a talented warrior.
"He can help me concentrate," Takuan says. "After that... Hajid has business with you that he has asked me not to explain. But he wants to further your training, and mine."
