STAR WARS: RETROSPECTON- Song of Remembrance

They take your hands and the music you create begins to swell...

If you were an amnesiac in the care of Jedi healers, this would be a process that requires peace and calm as your memories were slowly drawn back and repaired. But you are not. This is the Dark Side, and it will be great emotional turmoil and violence that bring back the forgotten life of Toolok Rah.

All that is required to restore yourself to your former glory is passing a Willpower check.

However, the difficulty is obscenely high.

In order to lower the difficulty and pass the check, Rah will need to relive experiences from his past as Hajid and Takuan bring them forward...

After each situation, you will be offered the chance to make the Willpower check. However, if you fail, the difficulty will increase!

You are plunged into darkness... and the first thing you notice is how cold the ancient stone tiles feel against your feet, and the scent of dust.

There is a dim blue glow somewhere in the darkness. You sense tremendous danger and impending death. You hear laughter.

He looks around trying to pinpoint the position of the laughter

It is somewhere nearby. Hard to tell with all this echoing, empty corridors. Somewhere even further you can hear the sound of fighting...

For reassurance he checks for his light staff then heads towards the noise of the fighting.

Your lightsaber is where you normally keep it! Though you also have that strange looking rifle... the word kinetic comes to mind... and the noise it makes, a distinct crack!

You move toward the sound of kinetic rifles going off... and find a group of frog-like beings opening fire on one man with a lightsaber.

"Rah, kill them!" Wraith shouts, waving his lightsaber at the Zeitonians.

Rah doesn't openly recognise him but feels he should and besides he has a sabre so must be on the same side, he dashes towards the froggy beings drawing his staff as he goes. With a double snap/crackle he twirls the now lit staff in front of him leaving a blurry after image as he launches a whirling strike at his foe.

With a very familiar sensation, you draw your lightsaber.

One of the Zeitonians... you recognize him as a member of their government... turns and raises a pistol at you.

"Destroy them both!" he orders.

SONG OF REMEMBRANCE, Start of Turn 1

Rah dances over to government guy and with a flick of his light staff severes the arm holding the pistol and then as he turns his back on him he stabs the other end of his staff through his chest. He then looks at the others "Come on then..."

He proves to be more resilient than that, Rah! When you try to take his arm, he twists to one side. The exertion gives him 8 damage as you almost do what you intended.

Wraith, no longer the sole object of battle, takes down two himself with a single slash.

The Councilman shoots at you! You comfortably flick the bolts away with your lightsaber, only taking four damage.

However, you then take 11 damage from the kinetic rifles of the Zeitonians! One of them rolls double 6s, so Rah is Stunned by one of the hits, halving your pool.

Wraith is not quite as troubled; having a Guard gives him a defense, something you don't have!

Silly question but how did I get damage if I flicked the bolts away? 😕

Anyway - As Rah staggers from the kinetic weapon onslaught he uses DW to drop low to ground and spin around with his staff to take the councilman's feet off. He'll then roll away at an angle preferably towards some cover from those nasty zeitonians.

Remember, not all damage in this is from direct hits- it is also exertion and close calls.

If you are going to swap in DW, what are you swapping out? You won't be able to use your lightsaber if you want it to be active.

On the other hand, with Charge you can attack and then move to cover.

I suppose I could swap out Cleave.

Rah lashes out at the Councilman! He does not hit nearly as hard with his feet as he does with his lightsaber. The Councilman only takes 4 damage. In return, Rah nearly takes a bolt as the Councilman steps back, dealing him 7 damage!

Not wanting to harm the Councilman, the Zeitonians focus on Wraith. He kills two and taps Orthodox Guard and Cleave.

Rah taps DW to avoid being hit again, and then as he distractingly twirls his light staff he twists the handle separating the two halves. Then suddenly he thrusts one towards his chest as the other swings around for his neck.

Tapping DW means you'll be rolling off of your Combat skill again- no lightsaber attacks. Is that okay?

Hmm, I figured that DW, although not a blade schtick would compliment the swirling of sabres quite well.

In that case, don't tap DW I'll carry on my action as previously stated but without the DW tap.

It's a matter of style there- fighting with your fists is not as elegant as fighting with a lightsaber.

Remaining evasive, Rah kicks the Councilman in the face while unsnapping his lightsabers. He only scores one success for 2 damage.

Your opponent gets 2 points on your in return, despite his high pool.

Wraith runs a Zeitonian through.

"You're not being much help!" Wraith shouts.
