Suki falling for Zuko? Did I miss something?

Did you read Promise pt. 2?

Suki tells Mai that Zuko's been talking with Ozai, and she basically says, I know you love me, but you love espionage and keeping secrets more, so have fun with that. And Suki tells Zuko that the warriors are worried about him, that she's worried about him. Then they share this intense gaze before they get interrupted and find out the Earth King is starting the war back.

Hoooooooly Shit. The lack of fvcks Amon gave for bloodbending was freaking awesome. I fvcking called it that Amon would rescue her and be immune to bloodbending. And... he kind of rescued her.

This episode was great
Spoiler:
Anyone find it funny how Katara is nowhere in sight in Korra/Aang's flashback? Really if blood-bending is this easy to do then the other elements pale in comparison. Lin is also awesomem though I still wonder how Toph had a kid.

This love triange stuff still pisses me off.

Thats how. Greatest Earthbender ever wakka.

Can't see the image Nephthys. 😐

Indeed Amon has been blessed by Blum so of course he would be badass and not give two shits about blood-bending.

What about this link?

hysterical It works Nephthys.

So who here feels incredibly sorry for Asami?

And compare this series to the original. What strengths does it have? What weaknesses? Overall, how does it stack up. Use whatever criteria you like.

i feel bad for Asami and Korra due to Makko playing games. Dude needs to just pick a vagina and stick to it.

10 episodes vs 60 episodes... for me i's too early to make declarations at this point.

Mako doesn't deserve any. Seriously, even people who like Mako are disgusted with him in this episode.

Eh, for me it's not. The only one I'd have to flub on is the supporting cast(since the former has far more). They actually have around the same number of notable villains.

AHHHH OMG that was so AWESOME! A little upset we didn't get to see Katara in the flash back but it was amazing none-the-less!

How can you compare the first series to anything really, it was the best show ever of all time and there is only 9 episodes out for Korra. I mean I'm loving every episode so far and I'm going to be sad when this show is over because there will probably never be another so I am enjoying it well I can and not worrying about comparing them...I'm sad now...I'M GONNA MISS THIS SHOW WHEN IT'S OVER!

They are? I guess he was a bit too touchy feely with Korra but he was freaking out and she had been kidnapped and kept in a creepy murder basement.

I like how this show has made a positive out of the short amount of episodes. So far everything has escalated pretty fast and I think they've done really well with the pacing. It really feels like shit is going down in a short amount of time and Amon and the Equalists went from some shady guys in a room listening to the radio and a douche handing out fliers to this genuinely sinister force with incredible resources and tech lead by an unstoppable monster. It feels like they really need to stop him soon or he'll just roll over everyone. I like how they've made Amon into hands down the best villain so far. First they reveal his troops are highly trained chiblockers, with two mooks beating Mako and Korra easily, then the reveal Amon can energy bend, then they reveal he has shock-gloves, then they reveal he has mechs, then they reveal he can just walk through bloodbending.

In contast in the old series they seemed to peeter around alot having wacky adventures, and Ozai was this literally faceless bad guy whose abilities we could only guess at. Korra quickly has no time for wacky adventures, and Amon is as credible a threat to Korra as it gets. In 10 episodes, Amon is a better villain than Zuko, Azula or Ozai were in 60. The threat feels imminent, the stakes are high and the tension is just right.

Also I like Korra's boobies.

Eh Neph, I suppose the pacing is the one thing we just won't agree on. I think it's too fast for it's own good.

That said, I prefer the hero, art style, and villains of the new. I prefer the supporting cast, action, humor, and the story in general of the old.

So old wins for moi.

Well it has to be fast. Personally I think its great they've been able to do so well with so little time, is what I meant. Sure it would be cool to see episodes that can really have fun with the characters and make each one lovable and quirky, but thats for next season I guess.

I too prefer the old, but as people have said, they have 6/7 times as many episodes to work with. But I do personally feel that Korra is in terms of quality, a better show.

I understand it has to be fast. I also understand that if you're trying to cram too much into too little a space, it's not going to turn out well(hurhurhur). The Pro-Bending, the Airbending training, the Equalist business, the deal with Lin, Tarrlok's shenanigans, and the romance....I mean, the stuff they get right they do well but the stuff they don't is noticeable. The romance in particular is just badly handled with the way they chose to go with Mako's character.

I still don't. Even in the first few episodes of Airbender, I still had more investment in my characters and more anticipation for what's to come. With Korra, I just can't shake the feeling that Amon is working too fast. I can't help but think that the minute he conquers Republic City, the armies of 3 nations along with the White Lotus would just destroy him.

But hey, opinions and stuff.

Really? I didn't give a crap about the main guys after the first few episodes. They were too childish and wacky. It took a while for me to start giving a shit.

Also I still have no idea why everyone hates the romance sub-plot.

Not for me. By episode two, I pretty much liked all of them and wanted them to succeed.

Because it feels intrusive. And forced. And stupid. The romance of the other series was basically woven in fairly well.

Agreed. It's wasn't until the siege of the Water tribe that I was hooked. Anyway, I prefer Korra. The story seems more unique and mature, the characters are in general more likable (although none are quite up to the standards of Zuko and Iroh), and the villains are immensely more threatening and interesting. Plus Korra has a whole air of mystery that the original never had.

i have but to be honest never looked at it that way. Figured its just one friend comforting other. 'sides even if Mai permanently broke up with Zuko i doubt Suki would cheat on Sokka.

So anyone notice that unlike Aang who touches the forehead and chest to debend people, Amon touches the base of the neck? Well:
