I was hoping the series would start with Mako and Korra apart so they can work on improving Mako's character before they become a couple again. But I guess the MaKorra fanbase is larger the Mako haterbase.

It's a bit early to tell. Maybe they'll end up breaking up by the end of book two.

I was actively watching the show, with some genuine interest (I've yet to watch Avatar), until Mako's lame ass became a regularly appearing character.

That they're officially in a relationship completely kills any boner I had for this show.

Watch Avatar then. Theres no character as bad as Mako in it, and its quite a bit more epic than Korra.

But yeah, Mako is very odd. The only thing bad about him is that he's dull as hell and something of a Mary Stu and yet for some reason he's tooth-drillingly agonising. I guess its because he's not only irritating, but he's also kind of the secondary protagonist. That just amplifies everything. Plus the overexposure of the romance, which was bad, makes him more annoying.

Oh hey, the preview for the Search pt. 3 is out.

I watched it all cause I liked some of the characters but yeah Mako killed a lot of the joy.

But now you know how I felt during the shows run. I decided I didn't like Mako right around the time he was a dick to Korra for no reason in particular.

I had hope that Mako would play the role of eventually making his brother look like the better love interest due to being a prick most of the show. I expected the bro to get a tad more serious and get something brewing between him and a korra as Mako went on with his gf.. No such luck.

Does Mako have a sizeable fan base when compared with other avatar characters? Personally I think combustion man is a much better character than Mako.

That implies they think a lot less of Mako than they actually do. They spent most of the dvd commentary defending him.

I'm sure he has quite a few fans but what makes Mako different is his huge hatedom. They really detest the guy and I commend that since I also hate him.

I hope they show more flashbacks in book two since the time gap between the two series is stii mysterious. I also hope they don't just ignore the Equalist Revolution and at least mention it in book two.

I heard the first half of the series will be dealing with the fallout of the revolution. In the preview clip it shows some guy telling Asami that no one will want to work with her company anymore.

Cute I guess. Too bad they couldn't work anything like this into the show to help flesh out both characters...not that this was a lot but Mako needed as much help as he could get.
