Oh god, I hope not. Varrick is a great character who seems to be a genially nice guy as well despite having a "rich guy" attitude. Making him a villain would just be lame.

Nick's character description ahs Varrick having ties to the triads. However I disagree. Having Varrick has the villain is MUCH better than recycling Tarrlok in Unalaq.

He only found out about him right before he came to the station and she was meeting with the President when he tried to tell her. So she passed it off to the two cops who yeah, seem pretty damn corrupt as well as assholes for trying to get Mako in trouble.

So if he has told her, we won't see results until next episode.

I see the assholes part but not getting why they're corrupt. They just seem lazy and stupid.

Lin Bei Fong is without a doubt one of the toughest and most successful law enforcement people we've ever seen in Avatar. She wouldn't put two lazy and stupid people in charge of a case of this magnitude.

There's no way you can be so inept that when someone says, "I saw a firebender leaving the building that exploded, and pressing a button that coincided with said explosion", that you're just like. "Nope. Waterbenders did it."

If they're not corrupt, then that's just some of the worst writing I've ever seen.

Logically more than two would be in charge.
The fact that this does not seem to be the case leads me to believe bad writing.

They're corrupt.

Okay, da fuq is up with the art? Why did they change it?

They're using a different, inferior animation team for the first half of the season. It should get better in a week or so.

Oh. Thanks.

The animation's good, it's the character artwork that's kinda terrible now.

Korra's derpy looks are amusing.

I actually just came here to predict Varrick as behind the bombings.

Although.....

Mako: "I don't want to go behind Beifong's back, I could get kicked off the force. Wait! I'm sure she won't mind my illegal sting operation if I make a deal with the mafia, promising to give them weapons (in the form of bending) and state of the art equipment. Mako, you handsome devil, you did it again!"

😬

The only reason Mako still seems like the reasonable one is because Lin acted like a moron this episode.

So the cops really are just stupid? I missed the first third of the episode.

Love triangle is back guys.

Juries still out, but they do seem to be more stupid than corrupt, which really makes me question Lin putting trust in them.

What happened to her awesome elite metalbenders?

Silly Neph. We don't need any good characters. We only need Mako. What more could we ask for?

At least he had the decency to break up with korra first this time...

Yeah. I thought Korra bringing back Lin's powers meant she'd brought back the Metalbender's powers too.

It was a good episode but it's freaking stupid. The PIS of having Lin inept was terrible. Mako going to gang members for help was also extremely stupid. Not to mention that Asami's mother was killed by gang members...

I did like the chemistry between Mako and Asami though, that was nice. Much better than any Mako and Korra moment we've seen yet...

how does the Avatar get amnesia when she's connected to the past avatars? 😕

This isn't you average everyday amnesia.

This is...advanced amnesia.

I've yet to see an episode of the new season but so far all I hear are complaints. What gives?

blame Aura and Neph. sneer

my only real problem with this show is that the stakes and scale aren't high enough. Doesn't have to be Armageddon level, but this little civil war thing isn't all that compelling to me.
