So...is Unalaq going to be the anti-avatar or what?

Most likely.

So are we not going to talk about The Search Part 3? i was personally reading it to find out what happens to Azula..

Spoiler:
so much for that. Ran into the woods? That's the end of her story?". Sure one could argue that she's got what she wanted all along - her mothers love. Throne - not so much seeing how she LET Zuko get that letter. Also they've made Ursa a terrible terrible person. Not only did she clearly and openly favor one of her kids, she then chose to forget them in order to live a life with no care in the world, plus she pretty much intentionally provoked Ozai to be a dick to Zuko and as a result he burnt his face and banished him. She also handed Ozai means to dethrown Zuko, that false letter was a pretty dumb idea. Also am I the only one who thinks that it might be a bit traumatizing for little kids to see their mother change her appearance complety? I mean Ursa's daughter is used to her new face, now she's going to have to just deal with it.

Most people have already been spoiled and I made a previous post about

Spoiler:
Making Ursa the bad guy
being the only way to undo the whole Zuko being a bastard and whatnot.

I guess, but its not like they had no way around it, they knew they'd have to to do it when they introduced the idea of Zuko being a bastard so why even go there?

Posting because its just so damn cute!

Awww!

Pretty disturbing though.... mmm

Anyway, this was a good ep. I liked most of it.

Asami doubting Mako though......

facepalm She turned on her own father for Mako. They risked their lives for each other. Also Lin finds a group of criminals more credible than Mako. She has to follow a lead they gave her, but has absolutely no time for Mako's evidence. Why oh why is everyone around Mako turning into an idiot?

That is actually one of the ways the writing is actively hurting Mako as a character lol.

You know during the Sting I wasn't bothered by the kiss since Mako never returned it...and yet here they kiss each other like they really are in a relationship. Bolin is the only one who seems to care that they're being pretty inconsiderate to Korra's feelings since when she gets back she'll...well see that her friend and ex are banging one another.

Eh? Nothing wrong with Mako and Asami getting back together. Even if it is only a week after he broke up with Korra.

I really like the Eska and Desna scene btw. It added some humanity to two characters who lacked it.

I felt it could have been even stronger to have after Unaloq says 'this is more important' Eska say 'No it isn't' just to underline how much she cares about her brother in comparison to her father.

He and Korra are over. Nothing wrong with Mako and Asami hooking to comfort each other in a time of stress. It happens pretty often with friends. It doesn't mean he no longer cares for Korra or is completely in love with Asami.

It means the love triangle is in full existence now. Which is terrible for me.

Bad writing I suppose. Remember the creators are making Aang and Katara act like a married couple even though they've only recently started dating. Also I think is sad that even after Azula is proven right she still doesn't get any closure and Zuko is completely okay with the fact that his mom is responsible for Ozai treating him like shit on top of creating possible evidence to illegitimate him.

This sucks I know, and to think I wanted Asami to be the Batman of the group: she fits it more that Mako IMO...or at least did.

The love triangle sucks but Masami is infinitely better written than Makorra.

Holy shit IROH!

Good episode imo.

(1) Great to see Iroh.

(2) Awesome designs on the spirits.

(3) I'm not really mad at Korra because as a hero (for all her anti-heroic tendencies, she'll always do the "right thing" when shit hits the fan) there was never really a chance of her not

Spoiler:
opening the portal to "save" Jinorah, and besides you know she's going to rescue her in the end
, but I guess I was still hoping she wouldn't do it.

(4) Still have no idea what Unaloq hopes to get out of his arrangement. I hope he has plans to double-cross Vaatu and steal his power, otherwise he's the dumbest villain in the show's history.

I wonder what Varrick has to do with all this. Sure he has to be more than a secondary villain just so the other 3 members have something to do right?

Both stories are cool so far but I hope they connect.

Well the connection is that Varrick is opposing Unaloq.

What I don't like is that the Varrick-Mako-Asami-Bolin story is made completely insignificant next to Korra's current plot (which is of a scale that the original TLA series never even touched, except maybe with the story at the North Pole with the Moon).

I hold out hope that Varrick isn't a villain at all, though that's seeming less and less likely episode by episode.

I was really quite disappointed when Korra immediately tried to bend at those... ferret-moles? It was such a typical example of her worst character traits.

It's taking her so long to learn her lessons.

Yea, she can be pretty terrible. One of the few things you can rely on her for.

Hilariously stupid and simple solution to the whole Harmonic Convergence thing: if the Sages know when it happens and only the Avatar can open the portals then...why do anything? Just wait until it's over. Vaatu needs both to escape so Korra could just sit around until the date had passed. The villains are powerless to stop that.
