Avatar: The Legend of Korra

A pretty good start. The plot is interesting and the villains are cool so far.

Korra is still an idiot who I want to punch in the face though and the adults still randomly become dumb (President and Tenzin). Mako is boring and the Earth Kingdom seems to have the worst luck in terms of leaders.

There seems to be a lack of character growth but it's early so I guess it's fine.

I know this is a kids' show but it's a little strange to me that, if these guys are so dangerous, they weren't executed.

With the way they were locked up, there was pretty much a 100% chance they'd have never gotten free.

Zaheer(powerless) was locked up in a one room cell with no furniture on a plateau on top of a mountain a few hundred feet high. And was guarded at all times by Earth, Fire, and Waterbenders.

Ghazan(Earthbender) was on a wooden ship out at sea with no earth around whatsoever.

Ming-Wa(Waterbender) was locked in a cage suspended over a lava pit(that they probably could have dropped if they felt the need). The heat kept her from having anything to bend and kept her mostly too tired to do anything. Also she has no arms.

And the last one, P'li(Combustion Firebender) is kept in a super deep, super cold prison where there was no way she could even begin to firebend. Most of her time was spent trying not to freeze to death.

No one could have predicted Harmonic Convergance or Zaheer getting powers.

Also, it was Aang, Zuko, and Unalaq who imprisoned them. I'm sure they were trying to veer away from the violence that had plagued the world for more than a century.

Know what would be an even more sure-fire way to keep them from getting free and terrorizing the world? Cutting their heads off.

The PR argument doesn't even work considering that nobody knows who they are or that they were imprisoned.

I understand and agree with you. I'm only stating the reasoning I think behind the why they didn't.

And it wasn't about PR. It was about Aang being a pacifist and wanting peace through the world, Zuko wanting to step away from the violence and bloodshed his family had started over 100 years ago...Unalaq probably had a plan because he was a f*cktard.

Rewatching the Koh scene, I realize I'm not a fan of how most spirits have become pokemon in LOK.

I also dislike how they've handled the spiritual side of the Avatar world. It just feels so lazy and uninspired in comparison. Bending as well. I wish they'd focus more on how bending is a martial arts.

The more I think about it, the more I really hate LOK. Mostly because I liked TLA so much and had high expectations.

Aang and Zuko obviously have tremendous influence in the world. With Aang's morals/pussiness in regards to not killing anyone such as Ozai for example, he wouldn't kill these four either despite how dangerous. In fact it seems like a total Aang move to create seemingly impossible and really complex prisons just so that they can live. I doubt this is what the writers' intended but it would be awesome.

Speaking of Aang, with the anti team Avatar well...hating the Avatar there's a theory out there that they killed Aang. I found it a bit odd that Zuko was concerned of the safety of the most powerful being on the planet but if these four took down Aang then it would be justified.

Then why didn't he take their bending at least? 😐

Well that's true. Perhaps they did kill Aang after all. Doesn't seem like Zuko to keep them alive though.

They'll probably give out an explanation out of left field on par with Amon being a water bender.

I have a hard time believing that Tenzin knows nothing about it. Makes no sense unless he's hiding it from Korra.

Tbh that sounds like something Aang wouldn't want to be a part of.

How is Zaheer so freakin' proficient with airbending when he just got it? And be able to stomp multiple White Lotus sentries? It doesn't make any sense...

He clearly has extensively studied air-bending (and likely the other three as well) based on him referencing some ancient air-bending master.

Yeah, I wasn't sure about that.

Anyway, so far it's an incredibly promising start. 4 awesome looking villains and the return of Zuko. Can't wait for episode 4!

No idea how many people here have known about it, but apparently Platinum Games (Vanquish, Bayonetta, MG: Revengeance) are making a Legend of Korra game for the major consoles.

It's gonna be downloadable. I read somewhere that it takes place between Book 2 & 3. Korra's design is her Book 2 design, so I guess that makes sense, although she's shown fighting Equalist Chi Blockers and Sato's Book 1 Mech Tanks.

~ I was rewatching Book 1, and I realized that Republic City would probably be a good setting for an 'open world' Korra game. But meh, just my musing.

Yeah, an open world TLoK game would be pretty sweet.

Get around by Bending, open world, your choices matter, blah blah blah. Great concept. I only hope if that's what they're going for, they can deliver.

I just hope I can romance Asami as Korra. Huehue.

^ Azula x Toph is official, so yes please. stoned

Hehehe.

Apparently, episodes 4-6 have been leaked online, with Spanish audio, and english subtitles. Gonna watch em now before they get taken down.
