But that still doesn't explain why nobody thought it was a good idea to kill these guys.

I mean, there's no getting around the fact that it's stupid. It's justified stupidity so it doesn't bother me much, but it is stupid, lol.
Hilarious continuity error in episode 4: In P'li's prison, it was supposedly too cold to firebend. Yet, the guard standing directly outside of her cell was capable of doing it just before getting steamrolled by Ming-Hua.

Yeah, probably. It's kinda as Aura pointed out, though, which makes you both right.
I'm still waiting for an explanation as for what Zaheer was to begin with to make anyone build a specialized prison for him. Like, what did they hope to prevent?
I believe he could Firebend as he was probably kept warmer than her as Firebenders can warm themselves in the cold under the right conditions(Zuko did so remember and maybe Iroh as well).
P'li was restrained, had her third eye covered, and was in just the right amount of clothing to not freeze to death. So while it's a bit of a stretch, it's far more likely that he could pull it off as a guard.
Death penalty seemed a bit extreme tbh. Yeah they tried to kidnap Avatar but characters have done worst and have been imprisoned. Ozai should of been executed for crimes against humanity but was imprisoned instead. They probably never thought of them escaping and as someone else said the prisons were for the most part really well thought out.
As far as taking their bending away, Aang was already dead but I'm surprised no one else on the planet could of given them the Amon treatment and take away their bending through extreme blood bending.

I like Amon more than her too lol. Just wished he had had better fights. That part was so dumb it made me laugh. A lot lol.
Because Nick is tired of airing this show?
Ha. Still doesn't seem good enough to me. They'd have to execute on it really well.
Hard to make good fights for someone as overpowered as Amon though. There's no bender around who was an equal match to him. Tarlokk proved that much. Either he'd get stomped by the Avatar in the Avatar State, or he'd stomp.
Why though? Low ratings, or poor sales of toys?
I thought they did an alright job. I have my problems with it, but it was handled alright.

Lolwut?! Between this (something that's actually worth watching) and all the potato shit that airs on the rest of their channel, they should be glad they still have it. Otherwise, it'll just get passed around like 'Futurama' did. haermm
Lolwut?! Clearly you've not seen Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Episode 6 hints at his abilities.
Spoiler:
He located Korra after meditating for a while.

I think our new villains will make up for that. awesome
I'm confused, too, hence one of my earlier posts regarding how they should appreciate it more.
TMNT actually came to mind. Sorry, but, IMO, the animation looks kinda horrible - as if it were made a decade ago. No offense, man. This is just how I see it.
Ah. Thanks. That kinda helps. Now just to see it.

Don't make him so overpowered. 😛
Probably a bit of both. That and it does stick out like a sore thumb on Nick when compared to their other programming.
We'll see how it goes.
Ah really? That is cool. Ties into the words from the one guy Zaheer looks up to.

Well, just no then, considering the animation in the fight scenes especially had only been getting better since the Season 1 finale or "The Good, the Bad, and the Casey Jones".

Zaheer is an actual name and is its actual spelling..And it's even shown on the Nick website...

To be fair they didn't fully reveal his overpowered nature until the finale. 😛
Most of their programming is pretty shite. Avatar should move to Adult Swim.
Should be more though. Because let's face it, if he's imprisoned, that ability is of not much use.

Blasphemy. He had a lot of potential he didn't live up to. Even if he did it'd be a tie at best. Don't look at my sig and avatar, I am not biased at all. Also Varrik should be a permanent member of team avatar.
Lol, you use the word 'Blasphemy' and then you say you aren't biased?
Azula's more fleshed out. Amon is actually the better villain. Plus let's face it, Steve Blum's voice > Grey DeLisle's voice. awesome
Varrick's prolly the second best thing to happen in Book 2, after Beginnings. 👆

Still should not have been that overpowered if it came at the expense of the action. But Zaheer is slowly getting up there in terms of favorites. All they have to do is bring it home.
Wrong. It should be on Toonami.
Whatever the case I'm sure it will be 1337 stuff and stuff.
Azula did accomplish more.

Considering the relatively sub-par nature of the fights in Book 1, I'm not that disappointed.
His paraphrasing of Itachi's quote made him a favourite. vin
Meh, I'm not familiar with US programming.
Hopefully not something as broken as daytime bloodbending though.
Way more obviously. Her takedown of Ba Sing Se is prolly more awesome than anything Amon did, but her status as an imperial princess meant she had far more resources. She also had more time on-screen.
But were it not for some lolwtf development (Korra getting Airbending), Amon would have won.
But I meant to say that Amon was the better antagonist. He's more of an anti-villain from a literary perspective IMO.
And I like him more. Plus he reminds me of Tobi before the reveal.
