Sucker Punch

What's your point? Dragons aren't exclusive to The Hobbit; they've been around WAY before The Hobbit was ever was ever written. As far as I'm concerned, dragons are fair game for any movie, just like any other fantastical creature. No film/book really has a monopoly on them.

That film looks awesome. I greatly look forward to this film. I was thinking about it just a few minutes ago and forgot the name of the film. So I found this thread by searching for the most recent threads Imp created in the movie forum.

I like fantasy art that is going on in this film. It makes my senses tingle.

It looks like nothing more than a popcorn film to me, but what a popcorn film! The CGI looks absolutely giggity!

They should rename this movie "WHAT MEN WANT!"

Just give the women in my sig some swords and throw in a few big bad ass creatures and you have this movie

What annoys me is his mass amounts of slo-mo use. His films feel like they're only an eight minute clip slowed down and milked for an hour and half. Though abit over the top, I still watch his films and enjoy them, just that damn slo-mo.

He does like a slow-mo scene. I agree that it is way overused, lets hope he tones it down for this.

Yes, as opposed to all the deep richness of regular cinematography. Y'know, the medium thats based entirely around style.

Because he's taking his one successful trick and is trying to make every single movie he directs with it.

Go ahead and be stylistic...I have no problem with that...But he'll never in a million years do it as well as someone like Tarantino or the Coen Brothers.

Not to say I wont enjoy Sucker Punch or even Xerxes if it actually appears...Not sure how it'll translate to Superman though....And I'm sure the trick will have worn extremely thin by then.

This look 'meh' at best.

Not going to be new and flashy like 300 was and I seriously doubt the story will have the depth of Watchmen.

What other effects is there to fall back on?

Matrix-bullet style?
Michael Bay's explosions over substance?
Over the top wire-work?
Bourne Identity stlye-where the action was just too fast to follow?

I don't think Snyder ever claimed to want to be another Tarantino wannabe nor can I see the Coen Bros directing 300.

And unfortunately I've read that Snyder isn't attached to Xerxes because of his commitment to Superman.
