Nova Prime vs Green Lantern (Kyle)

So now we're using the characters at their absolute peaks? I mean it's cool if you want to go there, but I thought that this was just a match up of them on average.

Thank you for admitting no outside influence took place.

Key words arguable.

If that was the fact, and Kyle truthfully overcame lust of power sans Circle of Fire. He wouldn’t not have seeked out Pallax energies in the first place. Do you understand the redundancy of your argument? This line of logic breaks, even when example in the comic itself has proven otherwise.

You're welcome for an "admission" of a fact that was never contended in the first place. The influence wasn't outside of Kyle it was inside of Kyle on a deeply subconscious level. Arguing that it's wholly legitimate to think Kyle owns those Circle of Fire feats and could repeat them in a fight on the fly ignores that the entire storyline was precipitated by Kyle suffering from an episode of pathos in response to his girlfriend's murder whereupon he subconsciously expels energies and part of his persona. Oblivion himself took months to form. Acting like he's going to do all that in a fight is dumb. So dumb. For real.

Actually, key words would be: "more than" arguable.

Kyle subconsciously tapped them at first. He didn't go around on a scavenger hunt looking to obtain more power like Thanos or Doom does. Be careful with your language here because it's misleading. Kyle clearly didn't even want them at first as he was afraid of them. The ultimate reason Kyle had to embrace the Ion power was because it was his destiny and Nero was threatening to take them. Did you forget that? Finally, your "redundancy" criticism might make a smidgeon of sense if Kyle hadn't actually rejected what Oblivion represented -- Kyle's dark impulses -- at the very moment he embraced the Ion power:

The comic clearly points, Kyle inability reproduce those feats are due to inadequate knowledge.

It’s a moot point. Again the comic clearly references when Kyle begin to tap into Ion powers. Which is sometime after Circle of Fire.

Kyle wins. Bare knuckled, with no GL ring.

Talk about a necro-bump. One year later (11 and counting) and Kyle still hasn't done jack-sh1t with these amazing trump-card Oblivion feats.

I am oh so surprised. Maybe after the reboot, eh? biscuits

Still better than Guy.

Is he even considered a GL? Pretty sure his ring is just a construct Kyle made for him.

With his ring he can do the impossible. Like teach Guy how to be a competent GL. peaches

Shots fired.

As we can clearly see in the aftermath of War of the Hal Jordan Green Lanterns, Guy Gardner's the only one handling business without being an emo b1tch.

lol, what was this anyways?

Kyle.

Nova is good. Kyle is the best.

This one is for all those fools arguing Kyle didn't have the same special ring, since his solo run. New Guardians 3 confirms Kyle still retains his "original", and always had.

Guy beat Hal Jordan.

Pre Parallax. Totally legit win, in a competition to see who could capture Goldface first. Hal was so pissed off about it, he told Kalmaku he'd better not put this in his biography. 😄

I love Kyle to death though. I'll call this 50/50, on account of Nova usually holding back his full power, and Kyle having some nice stories that showcased his imagination and resourcefulness.. (Such as shooting an emp pulse right down someones throat, disabling their hardware from the inside out..)

Kyle 7/10.

I'd say 7-8/10 being generous with my boy Rich because he's one though donut. He's a better match for John and Guy imo.

Who isn't a better match for John? Does John Stewart even have fans? o_o

Although he's kind of a victim of writer neglect.. He's basically the guy who takes over duties on Earth or in the JLA when the cooler Lanterns aren't around.

I think he has at least one fan here in KMC. Can't recall who is it.
