No it doesn't, chess is a learned skill and excelence at it does not entail a higher IQ a priori. Specially since chess is only connected to spacial tinking and some logic and the concept of IQ encompasses several other cognitive faculties (but not all). The best chess players in the world are not necessarily the most inteligent people in the world. In fact, they probably aren't. Extremely acomplished people in several different intelectual fields might be terrible players because they lack practice or the particular cognitive faculties employed by chess.
