Resident Evil 6

Kinda makes you wonder what's the point in the $60 price tag for new releases these days. Might as well make 'em $80 or higher since Capcom gets away with something that's obviously criminal and EA is no different. It's like if a child got his Kids Meal from McDonalds and got only the burger and fries but no soda and toy despite paying full price and has to pay an extra two to five dollars if he wants his Coca Cola and Power Ranger. It's crap like that that should get somebody court martialed.

Not much change there anyway over here

we usually pay $80 or higher for new games.

.....why?

Who the **** knows....

but i have noticed at some places sometimes on release the game is $60 or less, Maybe something is being done about game prices.

It's not the same thing, though.

People know full well what they're getting when they buy RE6 if they so much as type the name in to google. Capcom may be pricks for adding so much DLC or witholding content, but it's still up to you to buy the game.

Me personally? I will be buying it, as I have no interest in multiplayer.

Oh I think it's still the same.

Up to me to buy the game? So you're telling me if I'm upset about the DLC, I should decide whether or not to boycott, a movement that fails in the same place where consumer complaints actually succeed? I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna do that. Also, compared to all the other content that will be available (for free) upon retail release, I'm pretty sure I'll still get the game but I'm still displeased about the possibility of Capcom still holding back even the littlest of things to make an extra five bucks.

Well with the other multiplayer modes that won't be DLC, I'm interested to see how well it goes with the new gameplay. RE4's in RE5's Versus left a really bad taste in my mouth that I hope goes away soon.

How is it the same? They're not advertising it as one thing and then giving you another.

And I'm disappointed too. But you still know what you're getting when you buy the game. Capcom might be dicks, but they still make good games; good games people want to buy. As long as they do so, they're going to get away with it.

I don't think I understood what you said there then.

Stop saying that. It's now getting rather annoying. You say I know what I'm getting but shouldn't you be saying "you know what you're NOT getting"? I already know what I will get upon retail so knock it off please.

Get away with it? EA and Bioware thought they would get away with Mass Effect 3's ending and look how hard karma bit their asses. Also, I believe if it wasn't for the Street Fighter x Tekken DLC controversy, the Ada Wong campaign and Agent Hunt would've been locked on the disc. The three multiplayer modes are only considered a minor issue by some people so Capcom thinks it's safe to lock those for now but if it was Ada Wong they locked then holy crap would things get intense on the Resident Evil Forums haermm

Then why complain?

Yes, but didn't Mass Effect also have a bunch of DLC, some of it first day dlc?

Capcom said they are going to work on it, but tbh it doesn't seem like they're making any great strides.

About the DLC? Because I think it's pathetic.

A bunch? I only recall one which was From Ashes and I think it's one of the reasons Bioware sold their multiplayer maps and character classes for free to try and appease fans.

True but again, they might've disc locked Ada Wong if it wasn't for the crap they pulled in Street Fighter x Tekken.

Well yeah, I'd agree that it is. Some DLC I can get behind, this... Not so much.

Maybe I'm thinking of something else then.

Possibly. The one thing that did strike me was that they were talking about the 350 getting stuff before the PS3, which annoys me a bit as I'm a PS3 owner.

You said you weren't even interested in the multiplayer anyway but you do have a point. It's weird 360 is getting it first. Maybe the reason behind it is similar to why Dawnguard isn't yet available on the PS3 version of Skyrim. Needs more work.

With Dawnguard it was a technical issue; is it the same for RE6?

I just don't want it to become a trend, that's all, if they do decide to release single player stuff.

All I know is I'm probably not gonna get more DLC on this game than I need to, like I did in RE5 when it came to getting those silly Chris and Sheva costumes for the mercs reunion and whatnot.

Microsoft simply paid for the earlier release.

On Skyrim its a technical issue indeed and they have said it will most likely never get released for ps3.

No, they said they were unsure if they'd fix the issue, not that it would likely never happen. As a matter of fact, Sony sent a dev team over to Bethesda to help them.

http://www.ubergizmo.com/2012/09/first-resident-evil-6-dlc-gets-detailed/

While Resident Evil 6 has yet to be released, the folks at Capcom have unveiled the game’s first DLC which are the Predator, Siege and Survivors modes and will be online multiplayer modes. These DLCs will not be on the disc as pointed out on the Capcom blog, but they did state that there will be one DLC that is on the disc but the details of that were not revealed. More information on the three modes can be found after the break.
Survivors Mode takes the classic solo- and team-based versus mode and adds a twist. Get killed and you respawn as an enemy character with the ability to attack the human characters. Take down two human characters to resurrect in human form. Last man or team standing wins.

In Predator Mode, one player takes on the role of the Ustanak, the fearsome B.O.W. that stalks Jake Muller throughout his campaign, and tries to eliminate the human players. The humans’ task: stop the deadly B.O.W. in its tracks, or at least survive until the end of the session.

Choosing the human side in Siege Mode will see players protecting a single NPC, while as a member of the enemy team, players will need to eliminate that same NPC. If the NPC is still alive at the end of the time period, the human team wins.

Survivors, Predator and Siege modes will all support up to six players online and be played using maps from Mercenaries Mode.

Players will be able to track their accomplishments in these three modes alongside their main campaign statistics and compare their performance with others by registering on Resident Evil.Net, the free online service that launches alongsideResident Evil 6.

Further post-launch downloadable content for Resident Evil 6 will include additional maps for Mercenaries, which can in turn then be used as maps for Survivors, Predator and Siege modes, plus other items yet to be announced.

I'm surprised Capcom's admitting to the internet that one of their DLCs will be on disc. To beat the hackers to it, it's a paradox. Also, I don't know about you guys but I'm so looking forward to Predator mode.

Well if it's only one thing that's disc-locked it might not be that bad, depending on what it is. It may not even be something that's needed to get extra achievements, rewards, or anything. I guess as long as they don't pull something like another disc-locked versus mode like in 5 I'll be happy.

Resident Evil Damnation is on zune if anyone wants to watch it. I'm in the process of downloading it now.
