It was getting late and her group of civilians were already down for the night. Running for your life from all kinds of creatures infected with God only knows tends to drain you. She, herself, was more than a little tired. They hadn't heard anything coming for them in while so Naomi decided to close her eyes for just a few minutes and immediately fell to sleep.
A prophetic dream.....
The walls were steady shifting. Large tanks were every where. Naomi was walking down a long corridor by herself. Her footsteps sent echos all around her. In the distance she could hear strange sounds. Out the corner or her eye, she saw a shadow streak past.
Footsteps could be heard behind her but she didn't turn to look. Instead, she continued to walk forward. It felt as if something was beckoning her. Just then, an army of goo-monsters appeared all around her. She just looked ahead. She knew she should try to fight, but for some reason she didn't want to.
They started to advance on her and she knew she would die. Just then, a small monkey hopped in front of her. It looked back at her and winked. Somehow, she knew this monkey. A ball of light landed on her shoulder and then floated next to the monkey. Then some black and white ribbons, entwined with each other, fluttered out of the sky and rippled in an unfelt wind. A mirror appeared out of thin air and reflected the scene in front of her.
Where the monkey stood, its reflection showed it to be Liam. He looked at Naomi and winked again. The ball of light was reflected to be Caleb. He had his trademark "relaxed" smile on his face. The ribbons were the witch girl, Sam. She had a determined look on her face. The mirror was a guy she'd never seen before but he nodded his head at her in recognition as if he knew who she was.
Suddenly, she was able to walk over to them and felt as if she could fight again just as the goo-monsters attacked.
Naomi woke with a start and realized that help had arrived. If she could just hold out for a little longer.....

Bennu stood up straight and crossed her arms, more defiantly than was really necessary. She huffed out a breath and said, "I don't like feeling helpless when people are in trouble. That other day at the party someone was getting hurt and I couldn't do anything." Bennu slammed her hands onto the desk. "And then this club gets attacked! I felt the despair in that room..." she trailed off, backing away from the desk."And I just talked Pryce into going with me; it isn't his his fault," Bennu continued. At hearing his name, Pryce tried to shrink down more than he already was, and grasped Bennu's hand tightly. As he did, the lights stopped flickering and the room warmed up slightly. "Sorry," Pryce said. "I wanted to help, too." For a few seconds Pryce simply looked at the floor, then seemed to reach a descision. "It's alive," he said. "The goo stuff in Club Thunder was alive. I think it's all one big organism." Pryce swallowed. "That's all we know."
Simon folded his hands. Andrew and Leon had time to update all of the heroes on the Hive and he already knew this. But considering the level of concern Bennu and Pryce were showing, he took a chance.
"Ok. So what do you two plan on doing about it? Like I said, Strike Force is already on it but we don't have anyone here. Andrew can only do so much, Ben is dealing with everything else and I don't even know where Julian is. How's about I work with you two. I go along with whatever is decided and give my experience as input. After all, this is a school and we're supposed to training you kids. What better way to gain some experience than by actually being in the field?"
He looked at the two of them with an expectant look.

Katt faintly smiled at Ben when he asked the question. “ I can barely recall, but what I do remember isn’t pleasant at all. I took Andy shopping for new clothes when everyone in the mall went crazy. I believe what every it was had took longer to effect meta-humans since I noticed people attacking each other and such like. Next thing I know I’m trapped in a ring of fire. I heard Andy but couldn’t get to him then a blue mist and everything turned black. I wake up and people are getting up from the ground as if some massive force had knocked us all unconscious. Now here we are. As of now it appears the mall was the target as well as the school. Do you think the Sia’Rathe are back? According to DJ some of his interstellar friends have said they have been working on such a device that will make it fair easier to conquer planets”
"Absolutly not, honey. That was just a new student who simply lost control of his powers. To sum it up, he can induce fear. Pretty basic stuff, right? Except, if he happens to be around anyone with telepathy, they become an amplifier for him. I can only assume that Janet, Xanatos and myself made it worst than what it originally was.
"To calm everything down, I had to cast a sleep spell followed by a confusion incantation. So that blue mist you saw, that was from me. I am sorry you two fell asleep in the mall." He had a sheepish smile on his face. "But I am more than sure that the worst is behind us. I cannot be sure if the government has been alerted, although Julian was here when it happened. But I do not think that he has told anyone. It seems that he can be trusted.
"But I would not worry about another attack from space. That is being monitered in a whole host of ways by a whole host of factions. The only thing we have to worry about is getting this up to par so there can be more help."
He looked at Andy and laughed. "I am guessing that this whole experience has not made you feel any better about shopping, has it?"
All Andy could do was just shake his head. "And now Katt is talking about pictures. I wonder what'll happen then. The end of the world, probably. We tend to have that kind of luck."
All three of them just laughed.
