well, it doesn't really take a smart person to actually act...in fact if they're stupid enough, they'd just do anything they're told...although, they're probably just mess everything up...A LOT!
As people are looking for someone for a cast of their favorite characters, you have to figure...some people are sending in responses for people who are just 14 when others are sending in responses for people who themselves are 22-26 years old. So, who is really getting this on the spot? Myself, I'd rather have a more action packed movie, which could mean that teenagers aren't too action looking, I may be wrong, but there are really people out there that want to see a transformation, it adds more to a sense of difference...what's really different about adult link who stays the same? I feel that some things can be really difficult to decide, so that's where a compromise comes into things. I wouldn't care if half of a Zelda movie was as a kid and then he grows older and the other half is him as an adult...that'd just make things a lot more UNEXPECTED...You guys just let those comments flow. I know I'll share my ideas.
We've had this discussion like 5 pages back....major celebrities and movie stars probably wouldn't be best for a Zelda movie. You guys think entirely too narrow. Britney Spear? Jessica Simpson? For each celebrity like them, there are 10,000 girls just as hot that don't get all the acclaim. A group of unknown actors and actresses would definitly be the best. Besides, have any of you ever watch "crossroad" or that one show Jessica Simpson hosts? now picture that in a movie that you actually wanna see...
I agree with linkalicious here. Britney spears. come on she doesn't fit in this movie at all. Same goes for Jessica simpson. How can you hire a girl that asks if Tuna is chicken. Some unknown actors and some what acators that we already have seen. THis movie is often compared to lord of the rings. Look alt Elijah wood, Ian MCkellen and so many more. They already had a lot of movies but were never really the a list stars. They must do the same with ZELDA.
I love Zelda and would definately like to see a Zelda movie. Basing it on OoT is unoriginal though. You have Shirgeru Miyamota in the writing process and everything is good though. Here are the charcters that should appear in the movie if it is eve rmade:
The Moblins
The Moblin King
Gannondorf
Gannon
Zelda
Link
Shadow/Dark Link
Gorgons
Zoras
Dodongos
Sheik
Scrubs
The Zombies
The Twin Witches from OoT
The Poes
Skull Children (the one who play the flute in the Lost Woods in OoT)
Sara
Ghost Gannon
Other characters I've made up:
Rose (Legend Fairy)
Helen (Legend Fairy)
Fera (Legend Fairy)
Grace (Legend Fairy)
Trinity (Legend Fairy)
King Vernon
Queen Vernon
anyone interested in hearing my plot?

or Julia Stiles... though by the time a movie is even considered these two will well be into their late late 20's which is a trend I hate in movies. Casting young actors to play teenagers.
Just had a bitchin' thought, Koume & Kotake could be played by Eartha Kitt & Micheal Jackson. Hehe... On 2nd thought, screw M.J. he'd scare the kids and the movie would get an R rating. 🙂

You're completely right on about all those points. An unknown talented actor would or should be cast. 1. it offers a fresh new face to the big screen audience. 2. lowers the cost of paying the actor/big name actors would indeed suck up but should the movie be big and call for a sequel you can bet they'll raise the bar for money and the money will go to them at a bigger production with minus of that chunk change going into writing a decent script. 3. Its just damned better that way!!! Imagine if you were the director! Would you want used apples or a fresh new batch??? 😛
I think I'll have some fun here!
This here is probably what the actor listing for an actual Hollywood Zelda movie would look like.
Ahem!!!
Link: James Van Der Beeek
Zelda: Cameron Diaz
Ganon: Robin Williams "a joke seeing how Robin has been playing bad or unsavory types as of late"
Extra Character we don't know from the game: Edward Norton
Another Extra Character we don't know from any of the games: Julia Roberts
One more useless unknown character not from the game: Samuel L. Jackson
Directed by: Paul Anderson
Written by Joe Bob Briggs & Andy Dick!
Produced by Universal Studios!!!
😆

I think the cinematography should be exaggerated, maybe having bright colors like in "far from heaven" when showing place like kakariko or the Hyrule. and definitely using the same theme music.
Ugghh... bright colours! Makes me think about Joel Schmachers Batman Forever or was it Batman & Robin? Both sucked imho anyway.
How about David Fincher directing it or a Trilogy of films???
🙂
David Fincher is too much of a dark director. The whole time he would be using those long scene where the camera zooms unnecessarily in and out objects (like in panic room or fight club.) Am I not saying using bright colors throughout the entire movie, just for places that would be proper like the towns I mentioned. Darker tones would be proper for things like ganon's castle. All Im really saying is that it would have to have a mystical or storybookish type of look (LOTR)
Yeah, I agree mrglass, David Fincher is probably a TOO aggressive director, sure his movies were good, but I don't think I can see his films based off of a videogame. If there could be a good director, I wonder who would be a pretty good one? Me, I wouldn't mind seeing Peter Jackson as the director of some sort.

And Im not saying that they are not, Im just saying that not right from a story like the legend of zelda. peter jackson seems cool but I I just dont like the new line cinema special effects he uses. by that i mean new line cinema seems to use the same special effects in every movie the produce. I just have high visions for the movie because i love the games so much.
