Bullshit, not saying that Negus is using Kung Fu but I think that there might be a reason why in certain martial arts they use an open hand as weapon as opposed to a fist. So yeah it can be devstating.
If you are hitting someone with an open fist you are liking using palm heel strikes, which isn't a slap. Like you alluded to, it's mostly Kung Fu and there is a reason why Kung Fu is largely composed of hugely impractical fighting style that only work in movies.

True. Pete took several punches through out the comic, Blade just got clipped in the side with a slash and then got choked out.
wow. so wrong.
In their first fight Spiderman was punched across the lab by an un-vamped Negus and couldn't recover in time to defend himself. Meanwhile Blade takes a shot to the head, CLEARLY shown and recovers fast enough to launch a counter attack. Not only that theres the fact that Blade actually HURT a vamped out Negus while Spiderman was ineffective against an un-vamped one.
Originally posted by Mindsetit was more a throw, it's not like he smacked Spiderman out of the air, SM was already rapped around Negus and had Negus' arm pinned under his leg, meaningNegus was more throwing Spiderman off him than punching him
Yea, except it was a backfist, which is different as I've pointed out. And he let go to hit Spiderman.

Bullshit, you are making shit up. Like I said an open palm cover a larger surface area and could be devastating. One such application is to slap somebody around the ear on order to disorintate them.
I also think you might be over analysing it. I don't think he slapped him anyway.

Bruce Lee incorporated Kung Fu into his fighting style, don't tell me he was impractical. There also not impractical it really depends on how you use it.

He didn't take a shot to the head, he took a slash to the side of his chest. Do you need lasik or something? Negus never vamped out against Blade. He never went cave man brow, stub nose, Batface mode... his ears just looked a little pointy in some panels.
By the way if look at this panel you can actually see theres blood on Blades sword. Its not coming from Neguss mouth.

Enlarge it if you have to, there a big sploodge of blood on the sword.

And the larger surface area is one of the reasons it is less devastating. The entire purpose of the open palm is to minimize risk to your self at the expense of damage output. If you connect with the wrong portion of the skull, or your wrist is aligned improperly you can easily break your head with a punch, but you don't have the same risk with a open hand attack. Slapping someone over the ears with a cupped hand and popping their ear drums sucks... but a straight jap directly to the ear can actually knock someone out, which isn't something a slap will do. Punches are more powerful and effective than slaps. Its not a mater of debate.
Bruce Lee was a movie fighter, with no real wins or fights to his name, just bunch of hearsay. He never beat anyone of note, the one guy he actually fought as an adualt happened behind closed doors... and the other guy said he own and Bruce refused to fight him again. His philosphies on fighting were more impressive and valueable than anything he actually did as a fighter.
Almost anyone with any back ground in fighting will tell you that Kung Fu is largely impractical.

yes, a slash to the side of the chest the sent his head back reeling...🙄
Read the comic, the moment he sees spiderman and blade he changes from human appearance to vampire appearance, his ears grow his eyes change and his teeth become sharper.

It was a downwards slash that made contact with the side of Blade's chest. He wasn't hit in the head, the direct he decided to move his head and the rest of his body after the fact is irrelevant.
You should read to comic. Look at the page were Spider-man comes across Blade, and then the page where Negus fights Spider-man for the fist time (particularly the panels where he is in silhouette and the one right after), that is what "Vamped out" looks like. Now look at the Blade encounter.

Im not arguing that a slap is more devastating than a punch I'm arguing that it can still be devastating.

No he wasn't he also had to use his martial arts in a lot of real life situations when he was in Hong Kong.

Oh really because what I was told is that it depends on how you use the techniques.
Anyway it doesn't matter. Spiderman got stunned by a backfist and if Negus did the samething Blade would have got stunned as well, instead he choose to restrain him.

...I can't believe this, read two pages prior to the fight, Negus' pupils can be seen, his eyes are normal, and his teeth are barely visible, he sees Blade and Spiderman and immediately his ears grow and his eyes are blood red and his jaw elongates and he bares his fangs. There is a visible change. You'd have to be literally ignoring whats on the panel not to notice it.
