Do you have, liek, a comprehension problem? Where did I say I like whatever the majority likes? I said that blonde Shepard was the best looking, and the fact the overwhelming majority voted for supports that statement.

Or, rather, to be perfectly serious, Hale is indeed the superior voice actor, but Mark Meer is the superior Shepard.

Personally I've always found him to be a little bland but eh, to each his own.

His one-note, somewhat hammy, bland performance is the very ESSENCE of Shepard, he is likeable and awesome in the same way that William Shatner was as Kirk, and THAT is how Shepard should be.

Kirk kicked ass. I played as both Shepherds, disliked the dude. This isn't a comparison you'll get too many people to sign off on. He wasn't terrible, but he also didn't bring anything to the role that made me identify with him. If you think Shatner was that uninteresting, I don't know what show you were watching.

Hammy also needs context. Hammy complimented a lot of what was going on in the old Star Trek. Hammy doesn't compliment Mass Effect.

I liked Male Shepard. He pulls of renegade pretty well.

Jennifer Hale sounded like she'd just woken up in ME2, and that's an objective fact.

Now, wither or not that's "a good thing", is certainly debatable. Personally, I preferred Hale in ME1, and Mark Meer in ME2.

Neither of the Shepards deliver a particularly stand out voice acting performance. Martin Sheen probably does the best voice work in Mass Effect and even he isn't one of the voice acting greats.

Does it really matter?

Mass Effect the series has the best voice acting in this generation of consoles. It's outstanding. Voice acting I feel is not always about the actual voice work but the decision developers make on who does the voice work. It's kinda of a full/half full thing.

Mass Effect's voice acting is great - Bioware doesn't skimp on production value - but Uncharted and Assassin's Creed have better voice acting then Mass Effect, and I would say Alan Wake does as well, but I have to deduct points for floppy mouthed lip synching.

Nah, considering the amount of voices Mass Effect has I still think Mass Effect has the best.
