Gah, that is not a very intelligent statement as regards story conclusions. Some of the best stories written have open interpretation.

When I finally play through ME3, as I am sure I will one day (especially if they Steam it), I suspect I am going to side with The Spoony One here, at least in part.

Good luck with finding it on Steam. EA wants you to use their proprietary and inferior Origin, which crashes randomly, has to connect with EA servers multiple times upon game start-up, and oftentimes doesn't allow certain people to join/group up for whatever reason.

In fact, here's what's better about Origin compared to Steam:

Wait, sorry. Nothing.

Someone post up the update stuff as it comes in on the interwebz. Some of us posters have too much shit to do tomorrow to scour the interwebz for the update (I'll be at work all day, damnit!)

I know, I'm whiny...but I has to know!

I just finished the extended cut. I will give a rundown of the changes that I saw. It is extremely late and I'm very tired, so I'm going to be brief.

Spoiler:
The first addition is that the scene in which Harbinger shoots his laser at Shepard and his team is now different. Your squadmates are both injured from a tank landing near them. Shepard calls in the Normandy for evac for your team members. In the playthrough I did I brought Liara with me and she was my love interest. She did not wish to leave Shepard, but he more or less forced her, because she was hurt. After this the scene with the laser nearly killing shepard occurs.

The next change is a minor one, instead of Shepard waking up on the Citadel he is shown being shot up from the hole in which the beam originates, he is never passed out. Also there is a small cinematic where Hacket recognizes that someone made it onto the citadel.

After that everything is the same up until the conversation with the catalyst, which differs greatly from the original. You now have the opportunity to ask it more questions about his origin and who created him. You can also challenge him more. Which leads me to the final and biggest change.

There is in essence a fourth ending. You are now able to flat our reject the Catalyst's solutions and refuse to cooperate, saying that you'd rather die free than be forced to make a choice you don't agree with, from a premise you don't agree with. Once you do the Catalyst's voice changes to that of a reaper and says 'so be it, the cycle continues'. And then The Reapers basically win. The ending cinematic takes place many centuries later, and shows a VI of Liara, similar to Vigil on Illos, giving a warning to the future, and saying that the information hidden on this VI will help future cycles defeat the reapers, even though her cycle was destroyed.

Then the credits roll and we are shown the epilogue scene with Buzz Aldrin, but he is replaced with a female alien talking to the child. The female alien says that the information left behind by The Shepart helped them avoid the reaper threat and allowed them to live in peace. I didn't see how the ending plays out if you accept the choices presented, I will do so tomorrow.

I don't want anything spoiled, will play it later/tomorrow, I just have two questions;

1 - Did you load a save file from before the attack on the Cerberus Base? As for some reason that's what BioWare recommends.

2 - Are you satisfied?

Spoiler:
Apparently EDI survives the destroy ending, which is a nice way to imply that the geth survive as well, and everything can be rebuild easily making Destroy the objectively best ending.
Spoiler:
Reject ending is so goddamn passive aggressive.

BEST ENDING.

Spoiler:
EDI survives? I didn't see that. Where does it show she lives? I watched the destroy ending and she didn't climb out of the Normandy and she wasn't standing with the crew as they were about to put up Shepard's name.

Spoiler:
Someone said she can still step out of the normandy.

Looks like they were probably wrong though. Her name is on the Memorial Wall in the Destroy Ending.

Synthesis Ending, Reaper Shepard greets her crew.

Another enormous change

Spoiler:
is the mass relays are no longer destroyed. They are 'severely damaged', but not destroyed.

Spoiler:
I think its pretty funny about that. They were flabbergasted that we all thought the galaxy was ****ed in the old endings. So now they've clarified it.

Everything was destroyed? Oh no we can totally rebuild pretty easily.

Relays blown up? Not for long.

Normandy stranded on a random planet? Yeah, for like 5 minutes.

IDK, what was the point of stranding them on that planet for a few days anyway?

I agree, Neph

Spoiler:
it's now more or less pointless and kinda strange that they even landed on that planet. Trivializes the whole event.

Something I really liked is how they

Spoiler:
added more faces that can flash right when the endings start. I know Edi can now be seen if you choose the destroy ending, and I've heard Thane can be seen. Probably Tali, too.

Sometimes people can be overly picky. When I get round to playing this I'm pretty positive that I;m going to have no real major issues with the ending, even if it really is as bad as people say (probably isn't). I can forgive poor ending if it has a great journey.

Spoiler:
The reason I assumed the worst in that the Normandy crew would be stranded and galactic civilisation was down the toilet was becuse otherwise it would have been pointless to have them crash and to destroy the relays. It's Writing 101, don't have something happen for no reason or if t doesn't actually matter. But... I guess it actually was pointless.

That is a cool thing they did. They get Kudos for that.

Future DLC found in gamecode?

Spoiler:
Leviathan of Dis, a Reaper than can possibly join your side.

Yep, the same Reaper than indoctrinated the Batarian Hegemony.

1. I did, I didn't notice anything new until the final push to the citadel. Not sure why they advised people to play from the Cerberus base.

2. I am, though I was satisfied with the original ending, too.

Hmmm.... Wonder if the

Spoiler:
god child speaking in a reaper's voice signifies anything.

People are thinking that

Spoiler:
it means that the Starchild is really Harbinger like the indoc. theory speculated.

Make sense but I notice one hole in the theory.

Spoiler:
Why wouldn't his voice become like Harbringer's if you attempt the destroy ending as that supposedly ends with Shepard breaking free of indoctrination. That should piss of the reapers more than what ever the refuse option signifies.

I think

Spoiler:
Indoctrination Theory is dead, but you don't tell him what you're going to do or that you're choosing Destroy. You're given the 3 choices, the conversation ends an hen you walkup and pick one. With Rejection you're still talking to him, so he can still get pissy with you. In Destroy you're both too busyblowing up.

New DLC spoilers

Looks like it features a new contender for worst dialogue in the game

Spoiler:
<data>I don't want any tentacled creature inside your mind... except me.</data>

Oh Liara you massive dork, you have the worst chat up lines ever.

Holy shit. Control ending is awesome. Defiantly going to be my choice for my renegade play-through.

ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL.

Harhar, fvck you Harbinger!
