And reserve banking still has printed money based upon the resources of the country it's based on... The federal reserve banks only prints so much to prevent inflation.. Of course you know about those rules.. The average 3-4% ratios and unemployment numbers we rely on o ensure stability? So you are going to run in and rob everyone blind enron style and expect it not to affect the remaining governments?
And I didn't say I'd patent anything. I said with my tech I wouldn't have to worry about anything... Noone can touch me and really I can turn the world into a giant socialism...

But for which there are other bartering goods of monetary value such as grain and other food stuffs.. Oil.. And various mineral resources... Gold is simply a standard for the actual services goods you have...just like printed money...
but that's just the point, those bartering goods dont match the print of money. it used to be that most countries on earth held dollar reserves while the usa held gold reserves and fixed the value of a pound of gold in dollars, so by implication all currencies matched some value in gold which actually existed. but nixon ended that. the dollar no longer means anything in terms of gold or any other fixed outsided value, so printing it to pay the debt has meant making up money more and more often because there is no fixed standard of objective value.
So you believe the us is the only one to do that... So the euro... Yen... yuan... Are all value fixed on gold and rather than the GDP or ndp... Which seems to.be the internationally held standard for the last fifty years...

I'd use my powers for worldwide good until it became obvious that solving worldwide problems (especially economic and religious) requires more than lifting big things, flying fast and unleashing extremes of temperature. Given, then, a probably deteriorating relationship with humanity (and assuming I didn't go on the offensive), I'd go on hiatus until I understood the longer-term consequences of simplistic, band-aid solutions, likely even take a sabbatical in deep space, for perspective, knowledge and the sheer joy of exploration.

I'd definitely take the powers, then I would remake the world in my image, ending war and famine, giving the people a God that they can actually see and talk to. They could live in total freedom to do whatever they wanted as long as it didn't involve harming or killing the innocent. Since it's the real world I wouldn't have to worry about magic and kryptonite, even though it is an actual element can only exist in a particle accelerator for a micro second. As far as sex goes, if she dies she dies. There are millions of women out there that would love the chance to be "martyred".
