A melee fight Thanos is not allowed to use shields. Even if we allow it Thanos can't attack with the shields up. The moment he drops them he will be open to attack. If you argue that Superman will get hit by Thanos and that Superman won't use his speed and reflexes the entire fight then I will counter that Thanos won't use his shields the entire fight for the same reasons.

Because blasts can have burning properties, matter manip properties, concussive properties, etc. So Thor wading through Celestials blasts doesn't mean Thanos can't harm him with punches. Superman withstanding supernovas and skyfather blasts doesn't mean Diana or Thanos can't harm him with punches. A fireproof jacket isn't bulletproof although it can withstand some concussive force and a bulletproof jacket isn't fireproof although it can withstand some heat.
A blast is not meant to just knock someone back but to burn the shit out of them as well.

Saying they could beat up the Surfer while not having done so themselves isn't the same thing as Thanos completely destroying him. The Surfer has always done well against the Hulk but again who cares about continuity right ?
Mar-vell had access to his powers and was able to fend of the Nova and Surfer easily. Thanos treated him like a week feeb. Thanos would treat both of them like weak feebs.
Thanos doesn't have any strength feats that compares to the team and has never beat a team of this calibur in pure melee with no amps. Thor with PG was seriously troubling Thanos, the combined strength of Hulk and Superman along with Hulks amping, Supes' speed, and their ability to take extreme punishment is more than enough to put a beating on Thanos. His durability won't hold out forever.

blasts setting people on fire is irrelevant to their burning properties. A laser can burn a hole right through you but not set you on fire.
Then why did the Celestials even attack Thor then if they didn't want to kill him?
Superman lets his opponents hit him and Thanos doesn't use his shields that much in fights. Especially for everytime he is attacked.
Shields can't negate the speed advantage other than blocking an attack before it hits Thanos.

Surfer fought the Hulk in planet Hulk. Surfer was more than holding his own. Looks like continuity gets in the way of your argument again.
Thor with the power gem used more than just his strength. Thor with the power gem also wrecked shop on Dr. Strange, the Infinity Watch, and the Surfer. Hulk has never bested the Surfer with him fighting back.
Thor with the power gem lastly is far more powerful than WW Hulk and Superman combined. Sorry, again that's continuity getting in the way of your argument.
