The grain be gone, the silly Jedi running effects now look much better, (motion blur and what looked like a lower down running position taking wider strides) the new Yoda, minor effects and colour palette changes, sharper, more weathered looking CGI in spots...
....even Jar Jar looked great.
(Still hate his antics though)
Very good. It looked fine. I still think the saturated look doesn't mesh well with the skin tones. But nice to see the blu ray revealing some unpolished elements of filmmaking: the sometimes obvious smearing of vaseline on the droids to prevent refelctions from the camera and light, the grain in the looking-at-the-sunset scene due to use of faster film... I kinda like that. And I loved seeing the deleted scenes from the OT, knowing them from the books, comic books and a few sparse photo's.
The opening fanfare sounded quite different... very loud drums... Or was that just me?
I usually do that, as minimum...usually prefering to watch PT then the OT another day.
Ive marathoned the entire saga a couple of times too.
My favorite variant was:
Attack of the Clones
Original Clone Wars discs 1 and 2
Revenge of the Sith
A New Hope
Empire
Jedi
True: This misses out the holiday special, but I can live with that.
