I'm assuming that you have Windows 7, and that you're playing this game off of your PC? If this is true, and you have a USB thumb drive, that is NTFS formatted, you can draw RAM from it, and it will give you some extra muscle to run the game smoother. Two thumb drives would work even better. Just set it up for Ready Boost by right clicking on the drive and presto. I can't believe that I didn't realize to mention this to you sooner. Sorry about that. of course if you already knew this, my bad. If you don't know how to convert the drive from fat 32 to NTFS, go to your start menu, type cmd, and at the Command Prompt type: C: /fs:ntfs
The game runs smooth as silk on the highest settings, I use an i7 squad processor, a 500 series nvidia and a terrbyte of space. About 6 gig Ram I think, prboably more. My complaints earlier were about a problem with the games engine, its port to PC is known by many to have some problems, which include some problems concering the engines communication with some dirvers, hence why on the very rare occasion you go from smooth as silk to stutters for about 2 minutes then it goes back to smooth again.
This is also random, you could have perfect framerate while out in the vast wilderness, looking across the land from throat of the world or dragons reach only to get this problem when you enter a tiny room or cave.
Yep, Bethesda said once you get to Level 50 (which they considered the level cap), the rest of the levels are supposed to take longer to achieve. I think they wanted to do that because of the perks system. They wanted players to able to get perks faster so gamers can try them out and use them to explore the game. The rest of the levels after 50 are for the hardcore players in the game who want to explore every single part of the map and still have a reason too.
I think it's good. I don't expect myself to reach a crazy level but unlike Fallout 3 (where I hit the cap before I finished the game), it allows me to do most of the quests without feeling like there isn't a reason for them.
Granted, the sidequests are ****ing awesome, so I'll probably do it anyways.
Well, I've been on this series since Daggerfall, so I know what I'm getting. If you like the formula, you love it. It's not a perfect game though.
There's all kinds of small touches that were never implemented. Horses don't go backward (died once because of this), the buttons don't automatically update when you change the control scheme. So when you change, say, the "Activate" button to a new one, but that button already has a binding, oftentimes that secondary function won't work.
Combat is better. It's still not awesome though. When my best strategy is usually just to go 3rd-grader-playing-smash-bros. after popping whatever magical cooldowns I have, it strips some of the strategy away from it.
My Favorites system has yet to work properly. I can only set Favorites from my items when I'm looting something, and I can't set magic spells to my favorites at all. Not everyone has this bug, but it's far from the only one out there.
Graphics are gorgeous. My rig can run "Ultra" smoothly. I've had a few random crashes though. And I get that playing in 3rd person is "wrong," and that Skyrim's is better than Oblivion's 3P. But it's still clunky compared to 1st person. If they're going to do an inferior job on it, don't do it at all.
NPC AI is interesting. Sometimes they're brilliant, other times an unarmed observer who's just tagging along charges into 5 enemies and dies before I can do anything. Sometimes my horse goes nutty like that too. And sometimes I slip on the mouse and attack them once, and they turn on me, forcing me to reload or kill them.
I hope the mods improve. I can't really splooge myself at "killing kids" and textures packs when I was able to do such amazing stuff with mods in Oblivion.
Quests are fun, exploration is cool, and I'm really enjoying making a huge book collection. If somebody goes "meh" at this game, though, I'm not going to try to refute it. They have an audience, that audience loves it. But if you're not into open world RPG's, there's nothing (outside the graphics) that makes this stand out. There's less to do in, say, a good Zelda game, but the experience is also a lot "tighter" if that makes sense.
So my character is so badass at this point, that it takes a truly strong NPC to give him a decent workout, and I don't even want to talk about what Boethia's armor does... suffice to say, when I walk in on a crowd of bandits, it's all elbows and butt-cheeks hitting the walls ha ha ha. I love the decapitation perk for the one handed skil. Very nice touch! 🙂.
I've built my character up to be nearly like Marvel comics Juggernaut. I am at 90% resistant to everything, and can literally bathe in the most potent magics thrown at me (The Enchant skill is AWESOME), and I can't be diseased. Sneaking up on me? This is out of the question.
Spoiler:
Boethia's Armor is something else. Not only does this armor flare up when I'm in proximity of a baddie that I may not be able to see, but when they come within striking distance, the Armor begins lighting their their asses up LMAO (some even choose to run, but they never get far cause I'm Dr. Doom ha ha ha ha eek). If you don't have this armor yet, it's something to strive for.

So now that the 25 dollar window on Amazon for the Collector's Edition guide seems to be gone, anyone here know of a place I can buy it for relatively cheap?
Try your local Game-Stop, or order it from them online. I can't guarantee that it will be cheap, but you'll at least get a copy.
I gave her armour, as well as "special" dragon priest mask to my follower. At the moment I am wearing full glass armour enchanted to the gills with magic buffs (free destruction spells, large magic boosts, regen) so now I am pretty much immune to damage and can forever shoot magic until the enemy dies.
Downside? no more enemies can become a challenge, the only tactical downside is that to make it a challenge and to level up quickly I need to ue abilities I rarely used before like close combat and shields although that can be fun.

You should try the same thing, but this time make it the light Dragon armor.
Spoiler:
Ice Form Dragon shout is soooo cool.
I dont like the look of light Dragon armor, or dragon armor in general, looks a bit, i dunno, barbaric/barbarian esque while being a high elf, glass armor looks just as airy and full of vanity as the race itself. Although, since my character is fairly evil, ill probably wear Daedric once I have the Alchemy level I want to enchant the piecies to their fullest.
This is what my character has on.
Boethia's Armor
Nightingale Boots, Gauntlets
Otar Helmet (although the Nightingale cowl looks cooler, Otar has the protection that I was going for).
Ebony Shield.
It looks very Ninja of the high order like.

I know what you mean about the Dragon armors, I couldn't get completely into the look. Daedric I also didn't like so much, because of those big ass 80's shoulder spikes. They should have had different types of Daedric armors to make. Four sets would have been nice, with two of them being light variety Daedric armor.
They also could have made Dragon bone Inuyasha style Weapons. That would have driven me wild. Perhaps we'll get more treats when or if they make some add on stories like they did in Oblivion when they designed Knights of the Nine, and Shivering Ilse's. Here's to high hopes.

True that, probably why I am still wearing the glass armour and not daedric, although the latter has more protection and such its not like you really need it.
I am pretty certain they will make a lot of new additions, and so will the modders if you have the PC version, theres already 1000 mods out (most low scale) but give it a month or so and the creation kit and I think we will be seeing large scale overhauls packed with new items and content.
