Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Un-scaled loot and enemies is a double edged sword. Going through a cavern at the later levels and only getting iron weapons would be a major turn off. Still I agree, Skyrim should have had far more unique items strewn through out the caverns.

Sure there's more to exploring than just that but as I said I loved New Vegas' setting and atmosphere. Like the first time I found Vault 11. Holy shit that was so wrong at the end. Or reading about the guy in Vault 3 who thought it would be a good idea to open the vault and start trading.

Fair enough. For me I prefer Skyrim for the very same reasons.

Edit: And a Morality system in these type of games is awful,

Morality/Karma is really scaled back in New Vegas compared to 3 and is more or less done away with.

The only thing it affects is a few details in the ending, otherwise, it's more or less replaced with the better implemented faction reputation.

Personnely, TES's lore shits all over Fallout's IMO. After all, how many games have biased "bibles" within them? Yes, New Vegas may have a better story and dialogue (I actually didn't complete it as I got so damn bored so I really don't know). But in game like TES and Fallout, the point is to go out and explore the world.

The Fallout Bibles are, at best, Word of Dante, and should be taken with a grain of salt, and favoring exploration is no excuse for the frankly lackluster story and roleplaying elements in Skyrim. Even Fallout 3 gave my character more personality then Skyrim did.

I'm not saying it is an excuse, but rather the (IMO) improved exploration outweighs the rather pedestrian story. After all, in a sandbox game like Skyrim, this is the major point of the game. It's the same way I view Mass Effect 2. Sure the exploration in that game sucks dick, but I'm playing that game for the story, characters, and RP elements and all of those are top notch. So I consider it a great game.

Meh, I think it's a great feat for New Vegas that, while exploration and adventuring is inferior, it is still comparable to Skyrim, while also having great character interactions and story.

And was also worked on in half the amount of time Skyrim was.

(As a PS3 player) Bethesda, I...

Well, I jumped back into this today. I had logged about 45 hours but hadn't played since January.

One of the benefits of this is that there are LOTS of cool mods out there now. I don't mind modding my experience at all, and there's some fun stuff out there. Mostly, I'm turning my character into a "hunter" and I've downloaded lots of mods to accomplish that. Hunter lodges, a hunter faction with quest tree, increased wildlife, some bow and arrow enhancements, etc. I may also try to get myself a companion pet like I did in Oblivion.

They've also fixed the majority of the bugs I was experiencing before I stopped playing, so it's a smoother experience.

I wish there was a mod to give hand to hand its own skill tree. 🙁

I liked beating up people with my fists in the other games.

Yeah I see you being a fister.

I was thinking that a true pugilist berserker type character, that fought mostly in 3rd person, was a legit use of a character. It could be a "Mad Nord" race or something. A separate race of Nords that live slightly outside of the land of Skyrim that are comprised of a much larger version of Nords, including the females. You could equip with various knuckle coverings. The base is already there with the armored gloves thing offering a bonus for heavy armor wearers.

The concept just needs to be extended. I want that character class, now.

As do I.

Punching the shit out of dragons is manly.

You guys are dumb. Enjoy your roid rage mod.

Seriously though, mods for Elder Scrolls games are awesome. It's a big argument for A. getting it on PC and B. waiting several months after release to start playing. When I first bought the game, the mod community consisted of a few skin packs and textures upgrades.

Dragon mounts and Morrowind (Solstheim)

Discuss.

How long do you figure it'll be until someone mods the game so the dragon mount becomes Rainbow Dash?

Are you saying this isn't already a thing?

No self-respecting Nord would want to ride a cartoon pony. sneer

Yep, Rainbow Dash isn't manly enough to be mounted by a Nord. 313

No but she is masculine enough to get jumped by one who can destroy a dragon's soul by making it cry. Fluttershy > Dovahkiin, $!+^#.
