It is interesting that Skadi adresses the Serpent as "father" when she frees him, he corrects her with "All father". In mythology Skadi was the daugther of the giant Tjase and later married the asgardian god of the sea. Her father Tjase attempted to steal the secret of eternal life by kidnapping the godess Idun with her apples of life.
I don`t think Bor and Buri will be forgotten or rectoned, they are mythologically "correct" and marvel seems to make an effort to stay closer to the original now.
Also, how much do we know of Odin`s brothers Vili and Ve? I know they have appeared in the comics but never read about them.

vili and ve? i'm not aware of any retcons but they died fighting surtur. then they gave their powers to odin which was, iirc, the origin of the odin force.

Did ville and vil get rectonned?
They haven't appeared in any of the flash backs we've seen recently of Odin and the Serpent as children with Bor. My guess is Marvel doesn't want to bring them up because then they would need to come up with a reason why Odin isn't three times stronger than the God of Fear and doesn't effortlessly kick his ass.
Well, the prophecy of Thor's death was subscribed to the Midgard Serpent, both both times Thor faced the Serpent one on one, he "died": Once, Red Norvell took his place, satisfying the prophecy and the other time Thor may as well have been dead due to Hela's curse leaving his body a pile of goo inside of armor.
Apparently, Serpent will actually kill Thor and vice versa, so for all intents and purposes is the Serpent whom they were originally supposedly talking about in the prophecy of Thor's death or what?
