Base on JIM #627, Odin and Surtur statements can be full of baloney?

yesh 🙂

Wolverine and Ironman look F*cking awesome

Picture is'nt showing now.

It is interesting that Skadi adresses the Serpent as "father" when she frees him, he corrects her with "All father". In mythology Skadi was the daugther of the giant Tjase and later married the asgardian god of the sea. Her father Tjase attempted to steal the secret of eternal life by kidnapping the godess Idun with her apples of life.

I don`t think Bor and Buri will be forgotten or rectoned, they are mythologically "correct" and marvel seems to make an effort to stay closer to the original now.

Also, how much do we know of Odin`s brothers Vili and Ve? I know they have appeared in the comics but never read about them.

Did ville and vil get rectonned?

vili and ve? i'm not aware of any retcons but they died fighting surtur. then they gave their powers to odin which was, iirc, the origin of the odin force.

The Serpent turns into a dragon.

Never saw that coming. 🙄

So is the Serpent the "real" Midgard Serpent? Does he have any relation to Jormungand at all?

I don't think so since the original Midgard Serpent is supposed to be Loki's son?

They haven't appeared in any of the flash backs we've seen recently of Odin and the Serpent as children with Bor. My guess is Marvel doesn't want to bring them up because then they would need to come up with a reason why Odin isn't three times stronger than the God of Fear and doesn't effortlessly kick his ass.

Real midgard serpent? I dont get it

OMG! Oedipus Rex!

I am my brother's father
My mother's husband
and my father's killer

Well, the prophecy of Thor's death was subscribed to the Midgard Serpent, both both times Thor faced the Serpent one on one, he "died": Once, Red Norvell took his place, satisfying the prophecy and the other time Thor may as well have been dead due to Hela's curse leaving his body a pile of goo inside of armor.

Apparently, Serpent will actually kill Thor and vice versa, so for all intents and purposes is the Serpent whom they were originally supposedly talking about in the prophecy of Thor's death or what?

For me, this got totally eclipsed by Spider Island. I forgot it was still going on. Terrible timing on Marvel's part.

But meh, Spider Island is good.

Spider Island is fun. Fear Itself had action going on for it, but pretty much every tie in sucked.

Its weird seeing Archangel for the Uncanny X-Force tie in and then in the main X-Force book he's going as the heir of Apocalypse.

Simple question: Everyone that becomes a worthy gets amped by it, right?
