Oh the irony. You're a perfect example of what he said. The Imperative was horrible for Thanos characterization wise and you ate it up like a cum hungry Philo.
I liked the event and felt the actions of him were justified. I do like power showings though and am honest about it. he's the same as well but at least I am honest about it.

😂 Is there anything Thanos related you don't like?

Drax 131

Man, it looks boring and godawful.

Are you talking about Grey Gargoyle?

Just read Book of the Skull, and was actually intrigued. Think I might continue to check this out.

One thing I don't understand about this event, were we supposed to not have known that there were Godheads at the top of the Norse pantheon before Odin? Because that has already been established... it's not that big of a secret.

Matt Fraction was asked what "Fear Itself" is actually about. "The Red Skull discovers that Odin isn't the All Father. She frees him and is transformed into a deity for it," said the writer. The rest of the panel took comedic issue at this uncharacteristic news item in the Q and A session and chuckled at Fraction's choice.

facepalm

If anyone disagrees with Fraction being the worst writer in Thor history, they don't deserve to have an opinion. Seriously.

Well my only hope is that whatever the original All-father is/was, is that Odin defeated/inprison it and then recreated the world. Well I hope we can get some more feats/stories from Bor if this is going to go back this far.

was it Buri? (bors father)

Spoiler:
I liked it... a lot

Now I'm scared.

I'm glad it's not a Bendis-handled event.

I haven't had a chance to read it, but so far there seems to be a lot of people pretty happy with it thus far. However, most events start out really good and fall flat.

Ya so far seems pretty good lots of potential i hope it doesn't swing the other way.

Does Odin seem a little OOC to anyone else?

He lacks a lot of the poise I come to expect from a God of his rank and status. Thor seemed a lot more mature and well adjusted than he did.

I think it is the norm. Odin IMO has been portrayed in 2 ways.

1. The noble/wise All-father who is the loving father and protect of the nine worlds.

2. The super POED King of Gods who doesn't take any BS and goes around smacking things around when he needs to prove a point.

That being said...

Spoiler:
The part with the watcher was out of the norm. The 2nd part macking Thor around, round 1 and 2 seemed right

Very good book so far. Can't wait to read the next issue.

at last an event seemingly worth trying.

The art is great for a change too.

I wouldn't take any more Annihilators or Avengers art.

I thought that much. Granted, Odin can be a manipulative douche, and he has taken it to Thor more times than once. That whole bit about him hating on humanity was what got me. Considering it was Odin's entire idea to teach Thor humility and give him the soul of a mortal man in addition to that of a god so he could undo Ragnarok, it seemed bizarre that Odin was so pissed/upset that Thor chose humanity over Asgard. He's done it...more times than I can count, and Odin accepted that much.

I figure Fraction's reasoning is that Odin is sorely disappointed he's back and alive in addition to seeing this Serpent coming back to ruin his plans and stuff.

As far as this "All-Father before Odin" thing goes, perhaps the Serpent is actually one of Those Who Sit Above in Shadow or otherwise related to them. It would make sense, or at least make more sense than some random god we never heard about.

pretty good start

Still, you know it’s gonna be a random god we’ve never heard about 😉
