Cool beans. It'll make sense to ya when you see it, but basically what I mean is, youre better off forgetting that its an Alien related movie, and going into it just to see some cool scifi..

Oh, okay... gotcha. So it's not really very related to Alien? Cuz I thought i saw an interview with Scott not too long ago where he kind of alluded that it was still an Alien prequel... or maybe I'm making that up.. *slaps self*

That sounds like a winner. 'Tis a bit of a visual spectacle...

Sweet, cuz that's what I'm hoping for. 😄

The Pre-Xeno....

Well, you just managed to confuse me further, Sadako... lol. Oh well, I'll just have to see it. One more week to wait. I got a picture of my girlfriend and myself underneath the huge poster in town...

I think I'm gonna go a little out of my way to a 3D IMAX showing next weekend. : )

Your girlfriend (or wife?) looks hot. You bastard.

Yeah. She'd get it.

In ya'll's poor, pathetic dreams.

Looks like it's getting pretty good numbers so far... RT

Its related to Alien. Definitely. Its more about the universe that Alien is set in. But the focus is more Space-Jockey tastic.
It was rewritten to be less of a direct prequel by Damon Lindelhof. Makes it more its own thing adding to the existing xeno-driven movies we saw before..

I grew up on the Alien movies in order, and loved it because it definitely fills in a lot of the blanks regarding the derelict and it's pilot, and will forever alter your perception of what it was that Dallas, Kane and Lambert came across in the beginning of Alien, whilst simultaneously proudly raising a massive exoskeletal finger aloft in the direction of the AVP series too.

There is room for another film or so before any dovetailing into Alien is made reality. But I like what the movie suggests, by itself...and if they never make another along these lines, it should imply enough for the thinkers in the crowd (Scott's audience) to get a lot more of the picture.

But still approved by Ridley, I hope?

Hahaha... awesome.

That's good to hear. Yeah, I know I read that Ridley wants to do another film, which probably explains why people are complaining about the film raising questions but not many answers...

Still a week before it's released here.

I'm just hoping that the entire film doesn't rely on "The Big Reveal" of what the Space Jockey looks like...

Y'know like The Final Frontier when "God" hijacks The Enterprise.

Absolutely.

Indeed.

It answers a lot more 'between the lines' than a lot realised, judging by some reviews which seemed like they must have been talking all the way through it or something.

Well hang in there mate...nearly there!

Well that depends on the motives of the viewer, really. Theres lots else in there. But whether or not it they are too hung up on that prospect to bother with the rest of it is up to them I guess.
The implications and subject matter of the movie are very thought provoking. Also there is some brutal action in spots, and some very creepy tense bits, as you would expect, and probably be disgusted at with less.

saturday is almost here for me to see this

Spoiler:
Critical reception to this is middling. Apparantly this one doesn't quite live up to the hype.

So this is out in the UK? I might go out and see it later then I guess.

Yea its been out in UK since Friday.

I saw it a few days ago and it is disappointing. Its let down by a poor script and forgetful characters. Fassbender as David is the only memorable performance.

I'm going with Sadako on this one, don't give into all the people disliking it.

Warning: SPOILERS. What people seem to miss is the incredibly great story being told, this backstory is WAY more awesome than I thought it would be. I didn't want this movie to end. I just wanted to continue exploring new worlds. When I walked out of the theatre the only thing that dissapointed me was the fact that none of this ever happened. I was soo sold on the ancient aliens backstory. Definetly hoping for a sequel

Tickets ordered for 3D IMAX Friday evening. Going all out for this one. Excited. 💃

Wise words. It surprises people because its hyped in the wrong direction. The marketing may be responsible, or maybe the expectations of the audience is a little off based off of the gore based later stuff and AVP movies tone..

I genuinely am beginning to think that most of those who are hating on it would have hated Blade Runner if seen for the 1st time today.

Kudos, man. Just drop all expectation and have a great time.
