Yea its been out in UK since Friday.

I saw it a few days ago and it is disappointing. Its let down by a poor script and forgetful characters. Fassbender as David is the only memorable performance.

I thought the script was fine for the most part.

Also I thought Fassbender was not alone.
Noomi Ropace was great, Theron (who seemed misunderstood by a few critics, -will discuss that more after it breaks in the US to be fair to people who haven't had the chance to see it yet) was awesome, and the capt.was memorable too.

Warning: SPOILERS. What people seem to miss is the incredibly great story being told, this backstory is WAY more awesome than I thought it would be. I didn't want this movie to end. I just wanted to continue exploring new worlds. When I walked out of the theatre the only thing that dissapointed me was the fact that none of this ever happened. I was soo sold on the ancient aliens backstory. Definetly hoping for a sequel

I agree.

This was much closer to the experience I had.

I liked Roger Ebert's blurb on RT this morning...

Ridley Scott's "Prometheus" is a magnificent science-fiction film, all the more intriguing because it raises questions about the origin of human life and doesn't have the answers.

This one too...

"Prometheus" damn near lives up to the unsustainable hype, at least at the level of cinematography, production design, special effects and pure wow factor.

Wise words. It surprises people because its hyped in the wrong direction. The marketing may be responsible, or maybe the expectations of the audience is a little off based off of the gore based later stuff and AVP movies tone..

I genuinely am beginning to think that most of those who are hating on it would have hated Blade Runner if seen for the 1st time today.

I guess I'll be glad I haven't seen the trailers. 😄

And yeah, god, I hope it's as far from the AVP franchise as possible. That shit's a mockery of the true origins..

Yet, oddly enough, I'm not a huge fan of Blade Runner. Not sure why... I guess I don't really understand it too well. It's well done, though.

That's what happens when they hire director's with average skill.

So, for those of you who have seen it: how have the crowds been? I honestly am not sure how soon I should get to the theater. I'm not expecting Avengers- or Dark Knight-type crowds. To me this is a bit more of an underground type following... Or am I way off? I went ahead and ordered my ticket just cuz it's opening day, but should I expect a line?? (I realize the US is quite possibly different from other parts of the world, but I still want to try to get an idea). Please inform. Thanks.

I went 3 days after opening and the place was pretty much empty. Maybe 20/30 people tops.

K, thanks. Probably wasn't too crazy for opening day either, then. Where are you, T.M (if you don't mind my asking)?

It was a third full in the theatre I was in....but the showing I attended was around 6:30pm on the Friday. Probably busier on the next showings.

James Cameron...average...?!?!?!? 😮

UK

Oh, shit.. isn't Ridley Scott British? I guess I don't have anything to worry about, heh..

Sucks, though, that it's not getting more attendance than that.. 😬

Sold out theaters or no, I'm just happy that I'll going to enjoy this more than Patient Leech.

Yes. We invented him. And you're welcome. 🙂

LOL Robtard. When do you see it?

Lol. Well, the only contributions that he's done that I'm particularly fond of are Alien and Gladiator, so far. Most of the other stuff I've seen by him is kind of meh..

This isn't nearly as likely to disappoint as John Carter was, f#cktard. That was a mistake. I admit it. I've moved on.

You seem upset, friend.
