Harry Potter vs. The Predator

Look at the vid. Hermione looks in Cormacs general direction, looks DOWN, AWAY FROM HIM, and says confundus.

At no time was she looking at him when casting the spell.

Predator can just shoot ahead of where Harry is gonna fly through, just like any other gunner tracking a distant fast moving target his targetting computer is most likely well capable of that....
Mhm, too bad the pred was never shown displaying such marksmanship.

Got anything else?

Didnt say she was, but she knew exactly where he was, to a millimeter, implying the necessity of a line of sight.

Dont think if the pred was invisible 50 feet away she would be able to do that.

Nope, the thread started amended the OP. Deal with it.

http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Confundus_Charm

The Confundus Charm is a charm that causes a person or animated object to become highly confused. There appear to be varying degrees of inflicted confusion, ranging from tricking a person about a specific issue to making them lose all semblance of common sense, even to the point of endangering themselves.[1]

All that happens is that he banks sharply to the left. On-screen evidence > wiki.

The incantation is "Confundo."

Rrrrrrrreeeeeeeaaaaaaalllllllyyy? Because Hermione says 'confundus.' Maybe its a different spell. 😉

No, Read the amendment to the OP.

I have. He's in the forest looking at poo when he realises the Pred's there.

There also is no video of the protego shield deflecting plasma blasts. You can't have it both ways.

He was....watch AVP 2.

Look at his tracking systems prowess in all the movies....
A basic concept like that is not beyond that tech, or the instinct of a true hunter familiar with the speed of his rounds/time they take over distance..

How'd she know where to aim the spell? Line of sight means eyes on, she never had eyes on.

Plasma has mass, dude. You know that, yes?

Call it what you will, babe.

Ahhhh, I see what you're saying. You'll have to forgive me. I'm on heavy pain killers right now and sometimes have a hard time focusing.

Ok, revision (if thats allowed?). Harry discovers the Predator and his intent while gazing through a magical pile of gryphon crap. However, he still goes into the forest because those rare herbs are crucial to the love potion/date rape drug combo he's going to slip Ron later that night if he survives.

So Harry has his cloak, wand, all potions used in the movies, and all spells except the forbidden ones and he knows Preddy is waiting for him.

Ok, you obviously arent grasping what i mean by line of sight, ill give it to you, step by step

1)She can see him, and is currently looking right at him, knowing he is taking up that exact amount of space
2)She looks down and says confundus, with him till in the same spot, her knowing he is there, and with him being the direct target.

Therefore, her line of sight to him, is unbroken, she has used confundus on that particular person who she knows is in that particular place.
Potter wouldnt know where pred is, ergo, confundus, nope.

Also, only used on one person at a time. No blanket.

You asked me the same question on page 3 to which I responded:

I'm not debating that it can deflect mass. What I'm wondering are the extent of the shields capabilities. A flak jacket can stop a 9mm round with ease, a 105mm shell fired from an M1 Abrams tank? Not so much.

Protego may stop a punch but I don't remember Ron Weasly possessing the strength to punch through Harry's chest like it was tissue paper.

The simple fact that protego can't do jack against the death curse implies that it has limits.

No, it implies that a death spell is vulnerable to avada kedavra. That's all.

Wait, what?

Protego is a death spell now?

All you said, still doesn't take away that she never aimed the spell at him, she aimed it at a general location.

Uh......no.

She didnt aim it a a general location, she aimed it at him/his broom. Obviously Sadako was right, your head is think than planck mass..........

Show me an instance where confundus was used by Potter then. The OP said only what he was shown using.

Also, confundus still isnt your little "I WIN" fantasy.

magical spells dont have mass

Plasma does 😆

No, he banked to the left. How does that translate into confusion?

Call it what you will, babe.

If its a different spell then the wiki link is invlid and all we have to go on is that it makes people bank to the left. Wow, Potter has some hardcore firepower there. 😆

Wrong, read again:

He goes into the forest with only his wand, cloak and potions. No firebolt. No flying above it. No drinking felix beforehand. Fail.

No, it implies that a death spell is vulnerable to avada kedavra. That's all.

But.....

They're the same thing.

O.o

But by RJs logic, it blocks any spell, but it is ment to block things with mass, and spells also stop when they hit objects if used offensivly except in a few cases, yes?

That implies they have mass.
