Final Frontier Cantina

Xavier, you follow Galder and Rand into the Cantina.

For being in a rubbish colony on this rainy mudball of a planet, the Final Frontier Cantina is surprisingly sophisticated! It is spacious enough to accommodate many, and it is still packed. The patrons are all gruff spacer types, passing through like everyone else but stopping long enough to see Vorkuta's landmark!

Let's check the Marketplace!

Sounds like a good place to start.

And we don't have to go stealing stuff this time!

The Marketplace is placed underneath a tremendous covering that uses rain run-off to push turbines to provide power to the area, in addition to power generators linking everything. It is not terribly busy or crowded, and some of the shops are closed.

It will be rolls to investigate certain aspects of the Marketplace, and different skills will get different results.

Xavier will go to the fight club first.

Well, Rianna has decent Intrusion and Observation scores...she's mostly interested in see what kind of people go through the town and about the area.

I'll wait to hear what Dak wants to do so I can do those rolls all together.

The Fight Club is in another large section of the Cantina, Xavier. You are kind of confused why a drinking establishment has a fighting arena... but you're not in civilized space, so you don't question it too much.

For that is just what it is- a small arena, gladiator-style, with a mud-filled pit in which to do battle and stadium seating for spectators all around it but for a gap where the entrance is.

Rand has gone to the bar, but Galder has come with you.

"I wonder..." Galder mumbles.

"You wonder what Galder?" Xavier asks looking at the mud filled pit. He has an idea about what kind of fighting takes place here.

Dak wants to eavesdrop on any talked-about news.

"If they have anyone interesting to fight," Galder says.

Two successes gets you two results, not including the obvious that the locals come here to buy daily goods.

"It would be 'fun' yes that's the word," Xavier responds.

"How about it, then?" Galder asks. "Let's get in on this..."

"Yes let's," Xavier says cracking his neck to one side.

"It's about time we get to cut loose," Xavier implies the we means not only him and Galder.

Galder, of course, doesn't catch that.

Registering for the fight reveals that there is a cash prize to be won!

There are three rounds. Winner takes all. No ranged weapons.

For the first round, Xavier is being put up against Patel, a young man with martial arts training.

Xavier walks into the ring looking at the young man.

He stands on his side and waits for the Patel to make his first move.

Rianna wants to eavesdrop a bit on the hunters.

That has Rianna and Dak investigating the same thing. Is that okay?

"Our fight..." Patel says, "HAS BEGUN!"

He charges forward and leaps into the air with an all-mighty kick! It comes too slow and you block it in mid-air with your forearm, then twist his foot and slam him into the ground with five successes.

He readies a stance and kick straight for his stomach then comes back with a fist to the side of the head.

Next turn bring in FB for FE

Initiative goes to your opponent! This time Patel drops low and sweeps your feet out from under you, then brings his heel down on your chest for 10 damage! You roll to your feet before he can do that again.

You rise with seven successes and smack him upside the head for 9 damage.
