As for this telepathy arguement. It is interesting one. I think people don't truly grasp how versatile telepathy can be nor the various resistances.
Because there is a difference between reading someone basic thoughts, controlling them via there mind, shutting down there brain, going deep into there thoughts ect.
Just because you have been shown resistances to one does not make you resistent to the other and vice versa.
I think it's a fine line between CIS and CIP.
Character induced stupidity and character inhibited power. In both these instances people have he power set to win, they just don't apply it because they fought stupidly or they somehow forgot they had that power.
It isn't a power set match up. It's characters acting within character without being stupid idiots about it. Ie. surfer has the power of cosmic awareness to know supermans weakness and exploit it like he did against gladiator... Is it something he does on a regular basis? No. He didn't suddenly "lose" this power he just doesn't regularly apply it.
Thor has the ability to instant teleport or whatever. Does he bfr everyone? No... Could he? Possibly. But people like to see him brick out so we see both from him.
But take into example green lanterns. They have the way ability to exploit upper mans weaknesses all day. Do they? No. Cause instead of thinking outside the box they got Mano a Mano a day long.
We take the way they fight regularly with their power sets. Ignore both the ultra high one time plot showings... Same with the lows...
You end up with a silver surfer vs superman fight so surfer blasts an flies around all day and superman does the same but with punches. Heat vision and a combat skill surfer can't keep up with.
Best showings only says surfer wins. But it isn't how surfer fights.
CIS off showings says superman wins by punching norrin in the head over and over.
Wow. I just realized the way I took the argument actually went away from my previous vote for surfer to win. Changing it to superman 7/10

Here's a suggestion, why not actually lock threads that are obviously spite?Superman VS Thanos for example, aside from a superman fanboy or two, the vast majority agree that superman gets wtf stomped and yet its allowed to remain open coz the "mods" believe it isnt a stomp. biased much?
This is a character ruling thread, not a disgruntled poster complaint thread. If your feathers are ruffled about a thread, then PM a mod.
This forum has more Marvel fans than DC fans. That's a fact. And the voting in the thread still has Superman with about 1/3 of the votes. Superman has dealt with Darkseid. Thanos has been handled by characters at, or around, Superman's level. So there's obviously a debate.
The next time I see you make a blanket statement about mods you'll be getting a warning at the very least.
And what you have shown as your sig, not working. Bashing is against the rules as posts and in sigs. Remove it please.
you should grab all the Superman analog characters of each universe and have them be equal to one another in strength.. so people can stop trying to lowball characters whose universe doesnt rely on bench pressing planets and threads deteriorates into a strength feat olympics.
Example: Superman, Thor, Supreme etc etc.
these heroes can be used as a measuring stick for the rest of the heroes or villains of their respecting universe with how well they due against those herald level opponents.

I think we need a new ruling on the what ifs. The rules state that What ifs cant be used to show a characters regular showings but the rules don't imply whether or not What ifs are diverged timelines or alternet realities. Basically do we use a showing prior to the what if if it pertains?

The Thor fans will never concede to Supes winning, the Supes fans will never concede to Thor winning, The Bats fans will never concede to Cap winning, The Cap fans will never concede to Bats winning, etc. It's a fact of internet vs forum life.

I don't know if you understand what I meant, and it's a bit hard to explain.
Say Spiderman has a what-if where he bench presses the Baxter Building with ease. This means that ONLY in the what-if can he benchpress the Baxter building. But in that same What-If he doesn't have any on panel feats of a speed blitz. Can we use his prior history in comics to assume he's as fast as he is usually portrayed or not?
That's essentially what I was trying to explain.
