Scream 4

Some of the latest reviews are quite impressed with it, they say it's MUCH better than the weaker third film, and back to the roots of how the first film was.

It's a 15 rating, instead of the usually 18, here in the UK.

It's going to suck, imo.

It seems incredibly unnecessary, in my opinion.

1, while original, was decent. 2 was just pure regurgitated shit, and I have never lowered myself to even see part 3.

I'm interested in seeing the Scream movies. I have never watched them.

They all looked a bit silly.

But, if 1 was decent...I'll have to watch.

Also, I was told by my coworker (Johnny Demonic, on KMC) that Scream wasn't that bad.

If you're gonna watch them bare in mind that these movies aren't strictly meant to be actually scary. They're deconstructions of horror movies in general, and should be seen as such. Most of the fun in the movies come from noticing the little nods they put in. You should definately watch Scream 1 at least, because its the best.

The first Scream film is actually not a bad film, at all. Bear in mind that it is, in fact, a dark humored satire of horror/slasher films with a touch of blood and gore, and not 100% horror. It really is worth a watch, in my honest opinion. Some of the acting/plot is cringe worthy, yet not too terrible.

The second film, however, was pure, unadulterated shit.

Scream 4 looks extremely unnecessary. The series should've stopped at Scream 3 (or better yet, Scream 2).

It should have ended with the first film, in my earnest opinion.

liked the scream movies.. will see part 4, but not on opening weekend

My opinion:

Scream 1 has better acting than Impediment suggested. Just my opinion and am not trying to tear down Impediment's. The satire is REALLY funny is you're into dark humor/meta humor.

Scream 2 was basically a retread of the first movie, except instead of satirizing slasher movies in general it satirizes sequels to slasher movies. I think it's worth watching and would in no way call it s.hit.

Scream 3 is easily the weakest movie, and isn't as funny as the other two, being a more straight horror movie(it wasn't written by the same guy who wrote the first two). Still, it has its moments. Jay and Silent Bob have a cameo, and there's this crazy girl who's an actress playing one of the characters in a movie based on the events in the other two movies, and I thought she was funny. Plus, the killer at the end has a pretty cool one liner that I won't spoil for you.

I for one am curiously optimistic about this upcoming movie. Wondering how they're planning to employ "Saw" and the torture porn genre into their meta references.

Also the protagonist is pretty badass, waaaay more competant than a horror movie female character has any right to be. She

Spoiler:
smacks the killer around in every movie, does a seriously cool thing at the end of first movie (which I won't spoil), shoots the killer corpse right between the eyes so she can't return in the second and straight up executes the last one.

I need to refresh the first three plots with wikipedia. The first time I watched them, I was in middle school and of course scared sh#tless, but more recent views have not needed the pillow of "I'll hide behind it when they jump out."

But from everyone else, let me know if it's worth admission money for someone who's not a fan, persay, just likes the films.

Despite everyone negativity against this sequel, Its been getting good feedback.

Parents Upset Over Scream 4 Billboard

Silly arses, nothing offensive on it, so nothing they can do.

Scream 1 and 2 are fantastic, third was definitely the weakest and not as memorable but it finished off the trilogy and tied all ends perfectly.

Anyone who hasn't seen any, ignore the melodramatic comments against Scream 2... it's not shit.

A 4th was not needed, but from what I've heard, it's up there with the first one, especially the reveal of the killer or killers.

good review here

Looks like some of the early rumours from 'test screenings' turned out to be true.

I have the position that the reason 3 gets so much flak is because it's so different. It's a lot more meta than 1 and 2, even. Parker Posey is great in it. I actually liked it a lot.
