Scream 4

If you like meta, Scream 4 is for you...

**MAJOR SPOILERS***

Just got back from the theater. Damn. I went in this movie not just with lowered expectations, but not even really interested (only went cause dad made me). Hell, I haven't seen a Scream movie in about 3 years. Needless to say, I left the theater very throughly entertained. I will remember to trust Craven next time.

First off, I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who thought that Kirby was the best character in the movie. I mean, of course she was fated to die, but still, you had to love that genre savvy

Loved the new rules thing. Really had me on the edge of my seat and I was almost certain that either Sidney, Dewie, and/or Gail would die. Sidney's a beast though. Survived 2 knife wounds to the chest and a shitload of bruises from her end fight with Jill. Speaking of which, holy shit. did you see how Jill straight threw Sidney, who I'm pretty sure is twice her age, against a wall, not to mention the epic amount of pain it one would have to withstand with that "Self-injury sequence". And let's not forget, she was one of the killers.
Must say though, Jill's motive was pretty weak compared to the other Ghostface's. But her cunning, insane portrayal by Emma Roberts was good enough to let me ignore this. Charlie's motive was damn weak too, now that I think about it. Why are you pissed at Kirby? She was clearly attracted to you? What was the problem?

One bit of PIS for Sidney too. You've had not one but ****ing five different serial killers systematically hunt down you and everyone who knows you and you don't purchase a gun?

Ultimately though, it's blend of suspense, gore (holy shit, Olivia!!), jump scares, and hilarity ("**** Bruce Willis"😉 was able to create an entertaining film that was certainly worth whatever you're paying for it

I am planning to watch this movie! Do I need to watch the prequels to enjoy this?

I also saw the film tonight and it was "meh."

I give it a 5 out of 10.

Spoiler:
It was so far up it's own ass that it would have been better as a documentary or something. It felt messy. At least it didn't take itself seriously, so it can't be faulted. I was waiting for the movie to end. Needed more bewbz, for sure: still wouldn't have made it very good.

I wasn't the only one. It seemed that everyone was waiting for the movie to end and kept texting while in the movie. Several people in the row in front of me walked out.

I would have rather spent time doing something else. I regretted taking the trip to the theater.

Anyway, yawn.

If Scream 1 is similar to this film, it will not be worth it.

One thing, though, that was awesome: Cortney Cox is still HOT. 🙂

No.

But there will be one.

was the violence any good?

Not really. There was one part that was a "brutal" scene, but it didn't actually show the truly brutal parts of it.

If you like stabbity stab stabs, this movie has plenty.

7/10 from me

it okay but could've done so much more with it.

Wow, considering how awful your taste is, this movie must ****ing rock! 😛

There's another more obvious possibility that the movie is really really bad and I'm being too lenient considering how high I boost films you consider mediocre. Didn't think of that, did you? 🙂

Here's a list of films that would make my top 50 that are also in your top list:

1.Fight Club
3.Equilibrium
4.The Matrix
5.Batman: The Dark Knight
6.Gladiator
9.Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith
10.Lord of the Rings: Return of the King
11. 300
13. Donnie Darko

So, apparently, you have awful taste as well. 🙂

I doubt it. Its getting good reviews.

Your taste is factually awful. That you can recognise greatness just means that you aren't completely insane.

Plus I haven't updated that list in like 2 years. You'll notice that Scream is also on there though. I just re-watched it and I have to say I'd forgotten how genius it can be. If you're a fan of horror movies you have to watch it.

1.Fight Club *****
3.Equilibrium *****
4.The Matrix Ew
5.Batman: The Dark Knight ****
6.Gladiator *****
9.Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith ****
10.Lord of the Rings: Return of the King Ew
11. 300 ***
13. Donnie Darko Never seen it

How can you say Ew to The Matrix? 😬

List updated.

Yeah, I can understand the sequels since they had a mixed reactions but the first one.

Bullshit!!!!

***MAJOR SPOILERS***

Spoiler:
Olivia was ****ing mauled, the fight scenes with Sydney and Jill were extremely brutal, and don't forget Jill shooting Trevor's dick off and her self-maiming scene. Gail put up a good fight herself when the killer confronted her. And of course, "**** Bruce Willis"

[spoiler] [/.spoiler] - that's how you use spoiler tags, just remove the . I put in.

As for one review on here, I wouldn't listen to someone who hasn't even seen and appreciated the first Scream... talk about yawn...

If by good reviews, you mean half find it rubbish and the other half find it mindless fun, yeah, it's getting good reviews.

A statement so full of contradiction it's retarded.

Lots of your list contained some of my top movies which makes your taste just plain awful. 🙂

Spoiler:
I already mentioned Olivia and her death was just about the only brutal one. Everyone else was stabbed to death.

Syndey's and Jill's final hospital fight was alright, but not gory.

Jill didn't shoot Trevor's dick off. He shot him in the crotch and we only get to see blood.

I prefer The Narrator's self-beat down. Jill's self mutiliation was more for humor than it was for "gore."

Considering the wanking Scream 4 is getting, I'm strongly inclined to not waste my time with the original Scream. However, I'm told it's not like Scream 4. I'll still watch it to see what the big deal is.

As for the new list, I'd probably keep these in my list, too:

1.Fight Club
2.The Matrix
4.Batman: The Dark Knight
7.Watchmen
8.Gladiator
10.Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back.
12.Akira
13.Equilibrium
14.Princess Mononoke
17.Lord of the Rings: Return of the King
18.300
20.Donnie Darko
24.The Incredibles
25.Pulp Fiction

That's an awful large overlap. You must have shit taste, Nephtys. No doubt. 😉

Those movies are fantastic movies. That you can see that merely proves that you have eyes. However, that you would put the latter two Matrixes over the original, as well as the PT over the OT, despite this opinion being factually wrong shows your poor taste. Also, I've seen numerous other examples of shitty taste from you, of which I don't care to recall.
