Speed is the most important attribute. That is why flash could own many characters with a vast array of powers.
Reflexes alone are not enough, speed is required. For example, let's say you can see bullets in slow motion but still retained your human speed. If someone shot a bullet at you from 5 feet away, you will see the bullet coming at you in slow motion but fail to be able to move out of the way. You are slowing watching the end of your life for you are a sitting duck.
If Superman is more than 10x faster than Thanos in movement speed then for every 5 ft Superman moves Thanos would only manage to move less than half a foot. So if Superman and Thanos were standing 5ft away, mano a mano, and Superman decided to throw a punch, then Thanos wouldn't be able to get his hand up to block or create a shield or anything. He will get hit everytime without defense. Even if Superman allows Thanos to get his shields up in the beginning, then Thanos can't attack. He can only stay under his shields and hide. The moment he releases his shields makes him a dead duck.

I didn't claim that with speed one can beat anyone. I claimed it was the single most important attribute (all other things being equal).
Fallen started the blitz from at most 3 meters away from Thanos. That means he didn't even achieve anywhere close to lightspeed.
Thanos, in his entire comic history, has never been shown to attack while his shields were up. Maybe because his attacks would be blocked by his own shield? If you disagree then please feel free to prove me wrong because I've seen just about every appearance of Thanos.

I forgot Fallen One's speed was 12 miles an hour in the first 3 metres and then after that he gets to a speed able to travel light years in the time it takes to finish a sentence. Do you know how stupid this sounds? Instead of the guy taking off at a speed able to make stars blur and the same way he always does (in fact, everytime he's taken off similarily he's been a dot at the end of his takeoff in the same panel), he just starts off really slow and gains speed able to traverse really far distances in an extremely short time. In fact, 99% of his travel time is spent taking off.
The same page that he stopped Fallen One's blitz.... that didn't take too much work on your part did it? All you had to look at was the only Thanos appearance you've ever seen.
But it doesn't matter, if you think Thanos is just going to cower behind a shield than you're... well, you're H1. Let's go with what you said, he builds up an omniblast, fires it, track Superman's movements, spam blasts, etc.
