Harry Potter vs Helms Deep

Started by Pwned13 pages

Technically, if Avada Kedavra kills the soul, it will never work on the balrog, as its the same kind of creature (albeit a different form) as Sauron, and their spirits tend to be immortal. Sauron bound his soul to the Ring, which made it possible to kill him. But thats why Gandalf came back as the White, his spirit went back to the Ainur and they sent him back saying his task wasnt finished.

Anyways, it is correct, the balrog is a completly different foe that the whole of the Helms Deep armies, without Gandalf, could not have beaten. (You know, with Goblins it got rid of the Dwarves in Moria, including Balin. And before that, Durin the Deathless)

It doesn't have a soul, does it?

As a technicality, it does, albeit an immortal (thereby unkillable) one.

Eh.

It's not really a "soul," more like its true form.

It is a divine presence that chose to take up a corporeal form, like Sauron, Gandalf, and Saruman.

Either it does or it doesn't, which is it?

NemeBro is correct, it may take a while to tell you RJ

Well if it has a soul, avada kedavra works. We need an UBER LOTR geek here to tell us.

No proof that HP magic has any authority over Middle Earth matters and Magics.

Let's make it simple. The Balrog is a demon, yes? I don't think they have souls.

This just goes to show that the HP wizards wouldn't understand the Balrog (If we go by the chief HP fanboy's testimony and understanding of what a Balrog is..)

By the time the wizards have handed the Balrog the 204 page questionaire, their heads will have been whipped or sworded off.

Holy ****ing shit I just told you RJ.

The Balrog is a Maiar, aka, an angelic being, a lesser god.

It does not have a "soul," as mortals know it, it is a divine being which chose to take up a corporeal form, as a Balrog.

We had one the whole time, I am actually one.....

I havnt read them in a while, but NemeBro is correct, they are Maiar (Angels) corrupted by Melkor (Satan) most powerful of the Ainur (Arch-Angels) and most cherished by Illuvitar (God)

Melkor brought many Maiar to his side, with them taking different forms, many balrogs, some as human-esque creatures. One was recorded to be an orc, and many speculate that Ancalagon the Black was a maiar. Simply put, try to kill a demon with anything, or try to destroy its soul. You cant. The maiar are, in their pure, spirit-like form, unkillable. Hell, if I remember correctly, Saurons spirit survived the destruction of the Ring, he almost went back to the Ainur but instead slunk away to the deepest reaches of Middle Earth to hide until the Dagor Dagorath, where he would come back in full power, as would Morgoth, and the world would end.

If anyone sees anything obviously wrong, as I said, im a bit rusty im my LOTR history, dont have the money to buy the books and the library has been missing them for a while.

I thought it was a demon?

It is referred to as one, yes.

I suppose technically, after they joined Melkor, they effectively "fell" and became demons.

Then demons have souls, from what I've been told.

What the **** are you talking about?

Er.....Demons having souls or not?
