DCU gets remade - all books are #1s, Geoff Johns and Jim Lee on Justice League, more

Well that's just a copout. ermmnone

We havent seen a captain marvel title for a long time. i like shazam myself, but i hope they dont muck up adam too much.

To be frank, I wish Black Adam wouldn't be introduced for a good while. Johns' in particular is the reason why Black Adam's popularity sky-rocketed, usually at the expense of Captain Marvel himself. It's pretty messed up when your anti-hero/villainous antagonist becomes the face of your franchise/family of characters instead of the hero.

Don't get me wrong, I do like Teth, but really, Billy needs to shine on his own, without Teth, or Mary, or Freddy for a while.

Agreed. With the tidbits that have come out, it looks like Geoff will focus on mainly new creatures/villains. And some classic ones. Which classic ones? Time will tell.

I imagine he'll (re)introduce Freddy, Mary, and Teth early on according to interviews. We'll probably see a revamped Talky Tawny, too. Sivana and Mr. Mind will probably show up as well.

I wish Freddy and Mary's introductions would be postponed for as long as possible. I feel they kind of dilute Billy/Captain Marvel, similar to how Superboy/Supergirl (especially her, and don't even get me started on Krypto) do to Superman, and that it works better as long as the core concept is not overburdened. It's fun at first with the "hey, here's the female version of me, I'm no longer alone!", but once past that point, the 'wonder' factor is watered down.

Heres the interview done by Newsarama talking about the New 52.

👆 though after reading the first 52 Titels I'm kind of disappointed, it's not bad and all but it could have been really new, they could have for example wait some time before bringing Superboy and Supergirl into the game.

I was hoping Dale Keown would do some stuff for DC. Looks like he will be doing some covers.

Well, we won't be seeing Adam for a while. Here are some new details on SHAZAM.

facepalm

Swamp Thing was never intended to be "a warrior king of the green." He's a pacifist by nature, and only does battle when he absolutely must. Giving him a medieval/armored/"badass" look cheapens the character tremendously. I swear, sometimes it seems like DC tries to ruin characters.

Yyyyeah kinda what I noticed is that DC are trying to make their characters more 'trendy'. It's kinda like they are selling out a bit. I know I've taken the piss out of DC and sometimes why it seems so silly is because some of there characters are very old, but in a way that makes them special. The reboot seems like a good idea but in some cases they seem to be updating what doesn't need to be.

I'm still pissed about JSA.

This is DCnU, so anything is fair game. And Swamp Thing has been a very good title, overall.

Agreed. It's just a shame to see them flush decades-worth of continuity down the toilet. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if they give ST a gun and have him start sniping poachers. ermm

Pun?

But yeah, this seems silly.

Pun. Intended. sneer

For this week, Shade continues to be really good. Some nice world building and atmosphere.

Batman And Robin was pretty good. Surprised Damion killed/paralyzed Nobody.

Franky was nice, too.
