Not yet, just leaping for now. In space.

I might be inclined to agree with New Avengers, but being a Hank Pym fan, I think Mighty was just a bitter piece of work.I dunno tbh. The reboot of Ollie is one of the few things about this new DCU that I disagree with.
I'm talking about the dialogue specifically. And I like what Nocenti's direction.
The Operative:
Continuing the look at the Others, we get to the most secretive and connected of them all. He's known only as the Operative. His exact country of origin is unknown, but the Operative appears to have deep connections to every government on Earth. He's called in favors from the Mexican military, Russian Peacekeeping Forces and South African Freedom Fighters. He's gotten intel delivered to him from the FBI, China's MSS and the Internal Security Organization of Uganda. When designing the Operative protecting his identity was the most important element to his uniform.
Other than Aquaman, the Operative is the only member of the Others who has never gone into hiding. The Operative never stops until the mission is won. And in his line of work the mission is never won.
Action Comics was great. The fastest Clark had been clocked while running was 600MPH, yet he easily kicked his speed into a higher gear, and reached escape velocity+ (25,000MPH).
However, I wasn't quite ready to see him get 'the suit' yet. I was digging the poor-boy clothes he was wearing. Made him seem more rookie-ish/fallible.

I think they could have done more with the poor-boy fighting social injustice Superman, who could also be hurt, instead of super suit Superman who will, inevitably, end up just being indestructible and savior-esque.
Sidenote: I only recently got back into reading comics so I just sat and read all of Action comics. Anyone have any guesses as to the mysterious person giving Clark tips is?
And how did Clark know about the trains in #1? That sequence of events didn't make much sense to me.

He will undoubtedly keep making rookie mistakes, but now that he's got 'the suit', he will still *seem* more like a full-fledged superhero, as opposed to a destitute farm-boy who's just starting to get his feet wet (so to speak.)

"Conceived in a controlled test aboard a Russian space station, the man known as Vostok-X was genetically designed to be the perfect cosmonaut," "Aquaman" writer Geoff Johns told DC. "Heightened endurance, enhanced strength and intelligence and most importantly to the scientists overseeing the project, he was psychologically programmed through intense experimentation to embrace human isolationism. Vostok struggles with making emotional connections with other people."
The design by "Aquaman" artists Ivan Reis and Joe Prado features an intricate mask and a dangerous-looking energy gun. Vostok-X also follows in the footsteps of the Operative and Prisoner-Of-War as the latest revealed character to have no exposed human facial features. "He is equipped with a jetpack that enables him to fly, though not at tremendous speeds, and a helmet that allows its wearer to breathe in any environment," Johns said. "Vostok-X was the tenth attempt at creating the perfect cosmonaut. The others are said not to have survived."
Vostok sounds like it could be an ok character design - though maybe that's just because Geoff Johns makes a decent sales pitch - but The Operative sounds like someone ate all the other shallow attempts at 'teh badass' floating around the comicsphere and threw up.
The costume's kinda cool, but the pouches are pretty Liefeld-esque, which sortof sums up the whole problem.
Oh well.

^When someone who shouts everything about superman is LAME at any chance he gets, his opinion hardly matters on something about superman after awhile.
